I bought one, but have yet to install it. The installation kit comes with bolts and you're supposed to drill the frame to mount it. I want to try to use large nylon ties instead of drilling, so I've been trying to figure out how to do that.

thanks guys but you both appear to have third gen trucks. The genos site says there is not one made for the 03's yet. Are you using the 94-02 model and trying to rig it up?

Anyone have it on the 2nd gen truck??

Ted

Had it on for a couple of months now.

Fairly easy to install. Only took about 10 minutes. Make sure you have help when you install it. Otherwise it can slide off to one side real easy. Word of warning. "Do not use the factory supplied self tapping bolts". They suck. Go buy a set of four new self tapping bolts from your local hardware store.

Put one on my '99 - easy to install (by yourself if you're careful), fits perfect, and is one of the best accessories I have seen yet.

can any of you describe were it attaches to the truck. I have lights under the front cross member as shown below. Is this prohibitive?

Tflower can you be more specific on the self tapping bolts you used? Are they a hex head bolt with a sheet metal type tap on the end?

Thanks

Ted

It comes with (3) hex head, self-tapping sheet metal screws per side. The picture of mine below is looking up and aft on the driver's side. The two forward screws go vertically into the frame, where the shield matches the frame contour. The third screw goes into the side of the frame up higher. I have my Hadley Bulleys mounted to the lower radiator support (now covered by the shield). I had my doubts as to whether it would clear them, but I decided to give it a try, and lo and behold, it fit great with about 1/4" clearance with the horn trumpets. Man, I was so happy, I could have $hi, I mean smiled. :D

p. s. I labelled the screw locations 1, 2, and 3 with yellow text, but they didn't come through very clear due to having to shrink the picture size to get it to post. Hopefully, you can see what I mean.
