Skipping and knocking

Started to work last week and started truck and it was skipping. Drove on in to work and still skipping when i got there. Couldn't tell it much going down road. Whistle blows and start 2 leave work fire her up and holy moly. You talk about knocking and smoking sound like rod i don't know. Called few guys and looked on her for info and was hoping it's stuck injector. Anyway got her tore down with injectors in hand ready to send them to someone 2 check. Nobody around here can check them. I really don't have any good tools to check her with other than scan tool. It didn't give any codes. Boy i hope it isn't a dropped valve that some have had bad luck with.

Got injectors tested said to have one bad. Put them in tonight, with no change. I still have a hammering motor and a fuel smoking one. ????

Same thing happend to me, cracked injector body and it flooded the crankcase with diesel. Bye Bye Rod Bearings. I am so done with this electronic crap, and will be looking for a 12v soon.

Did you get a fresh load of fuel prior to this happening? I had a similar thing happen. It would run well enough on the highway that you didn't notice but when stopped it was missing terribly.



Dodge dealer showed me a sample of the fuel they drained from the fillup I had just purchased and the bottom third of the liquid in the glass jar was black sludge.



You might want to check your fuel if you had just purchased a fresh tank.

What i thought changed fuel filter it all looked good. I'm going roundup a stethescope here shortley and try 2 find it. This burns my . ss up.

Well tore her down today. Pulled head off and what do you know dropped intake valve seat.
