Ok, I need help deciding which kit to get. I'm going to lift the front and rear. I'm either going to get the standard kit or the single flex kit with the rear add-a-leaf. It's just for looks, not really going off-road. I'm just thinking that the single flex adds more adjustment, or is that complication:rolleyes: , for a good alignment. Also if any one has this kit, how much does the add-a-leaf raise the back? TIA

MP,

My opinion on the flex kits, is that it would be a watse of time and money, if your not gonna' really "off road" it. The 2. 5" coil does not require any real adjustments. There are plenty of members on here that have just the coil, and are very happy with it.

I take mine off-road occansionally throughout the year, but heavilly in the huntin' months, and have zero complaints. However, if I was to lift higher, I would use the single, or maybee even the double flex system, with the NEW rear spring.

I haven't used a add-a-leaf on a Dodge yet, but I have had one on another truck, with good results, but a stiffer ride. Realitivly simple installation, although a new spring would be faster, but more cash. Hope this helps.

What Rob said.

The stock control arms have a cam bolt at the front of the lower control arm for caster/driveshaft angle adjustment. Since the upper and lower arms are nearly the same length, little adjustment is required. May have to compromise between driveshaft and caster though - a little less caster will help u-joint life. Some members have different thoughts on what caster is best - set it so YOU like how it drives. If you are just doing it for looks you may want the snappy new control arms painted your favorite color.

I'm not really a fan of add-a-leaves either. Stiffer, harder on the main spring, and questionable life in some cases.

Whatever you do, I'm sure you'll like the looks of it.

Thanks for the replies. My reasoning for the add-a-leafs was because I usually have weight in the back of the truck. I figured that having a stiffer spring pack would be a good thing because I don't like it when the truck sits nose high. I'm just wondering how much the back is actually raised, guessing 1" - 1 1/2".
