SKYJACKER 4.5" OR KORE RECON SUSPENSION?

Oo. ANYONE RUNNING SKYJACKERS 4. 5" OR KORE RECON SUSPENION,HAVE ANY PICTURES,OPINIONS ?

Well, just incase you are seriously comparing the two... I will respond. It would depend on your goal. A lift is... just a lift. The KORE (I have the Race) is a "working" suspension for real life performance on rough terrain. George

geusterman brings up a good point... What are you looking for in a suspension? It seems that there are lift kits and there are suspension systems. I am not berating either one, just pointing out that they serve different purposes.



I also have the Race series suspension from KORE (not putting KORE out as the best, but one amongst several fine suspension systems on the market) and I was just thinking how nice it is as I was cruising along a nasty back road somewhere north of 45ish mph sipping my drink... Niiiiiccccceeee... .

I think the KORE will ride and handle better, but at a cost. Like posted above, you need to think about what you want and what you are willing to give. If you just want it bigger for some more tire and thats it, the Skyjacker is probably the way to go. However, if you want a nice riding, smooth handling performance suspension engineered for rough use, then KORE hands down. I will be installin the KORE Leveling kit on my 06 one of these days . . . . . .

My buddies truck that had the skyjacker had less than 2"of compression travel. It broke the stops on its first off road trip. He is now running a combination of Carli and lorenze My 05 is getting the full Carli treatment tommorrow

What is your goal because one kit is $1,200 and the other can can be as much as $10,000.



Kore is only 2. 5" lift as the others are much taller.



Do you want to be able to off road desert race and jump your truck or just be able to fit larger tires.



There isnt much difference between the basic kore w/ bilstiens and another off the shelf lift with bilstiens except the price and height



It mostly all in the shocks

If you want to go big, you can get the KORE Technical Series.



Supposedly it has 4. 5" lift. Don't know what kind of performance it has, though.



I have an early Kore Chase system. I would definitely suggest getting the Chase at a minimum. The new Fox 2. 0's are sweet, and you don't have to mess with swapping out your shock towers for super expensive billet ones that don't like big turbos.



Who cares how tall your truck is when you're flying down a dirt road in total control?



I chose a suspension system instead of a lift. I suggest you do the same.

I have the Kore Recon/Pace, like the overs have said lift vs performance. If you go with Kore get the Chase.

I have the Skyjacker. I have no complaints. The ride and handling are MUCH improved over stock. If I had to do it all gain, I would win the lotto and buy a KORE or Carli though. But hey, I got the Skyjacker free (long story), so what the heck!

If a skyjacker kit sells for $1200 bucks, I believe the Kore recon sells for $1455, I don't think you have to win the lottery to make up that difference. But the ride will be hands down better in the street and in the dirt. You don't have to spend a ton of money for ride quality or performance. The recon springs are the same springs in the chase and race set-up. If you are not going to spend hours at a time flying down a bumpy dirt road you don't need the bigger shocks. But I bet the bilsteins last longer down that bumpy road than the skyjacker shocks. Not trying to be biased just trying to keep apples with apples. I just don't think it is a good idea to have these trucks that high in the air. I hope I was helpful.

Like I said, it was free. I was speaking of the Kore race and ultimate systems, not the Recon. I agree that if your goals are better ride, then yes, Kore hands down, but I can honestly say that my Skyjacker kit is a huge improvement over stock and I am quite happy with it.

Be very carefull using any speed off road with your system it is very easy to bottom out and bend the front diff housing. I have seen this too many times.

I hear ya. Mine very rarely ever sees anything more than a graded dirt road, so I'm not too concerned, but thanks for the heads-up.



Honestly, a KORE Recon was my first choice, I even had the order set up, just had to hit "purchase". Then, as luck would have it, I was given the opprotunity to trade my stock setup for a new (150 miles) Skyjacker. I was hesitant, but in the end, I'm happy with the trade. Maybe my next CTD will get the KORE treatment.

Yes Jake I am the one who makes the truss for Kore. I also geared all the Kore race trucks and many of the pre-runners. I also did all of the gear work for Greg Boardman as well. I am finally coming out into the open a little bit so I hope you veterans take it easy on me. I also have a lot of class 8 and stock full racing experience in the Viejas f150's. Lots of fun. I was talking to Greg about getting mine trussed back in 05. He would never give me any straight answers so I had to do it myself. I wish you would have come forward sooner. Since my KORE race system bottomed out to easy and a lack of support from DRC I have had to spend a bundle to get my truck back in shape. I hope your being on here will save others from going through what I had to.

What are you talking about. KORE uses the Bilstien 5100 that can bought at any part store and was included in my Superlift 4. 5" Lift



The RECON SERIES uses the same high-performance VR coils and mini leaf packs as the RACE and Chase SERIES yet incorporates the legendary Bilstein 5100 Series shock. :-laf
