HEMI, well I started to read the official vehicle law book at work, (before I got disgusted and put it down) and a little I've come to know hearing from others-Here in Hawaii if you alter a vehicle-suspension, tires, rims, exhaust, lighting you are supposed to take your vehicle down to a reconditioned vehicle inspection station, now there is only one on this island. Every year you are required to get a vehicle safety check, if you don't have a recon sticker, you can't get a safety check. Now, the part that is annoying is that I went in for my safety check, to the same station that I went to last year, to the same person, and this year she goes " oh I can't pass you because your tires are sticking out of the wheel wells", so I said "really, are you sure?", she says " yeah I can see from here", about 50 feet away from my truck. So I say " well are you going to use the pole to check?" (they check your tire to well clearance by putting a pole against your tires side wall and it shows if you treads are sticking out of the wells, side wall can stick out, not treads), and she insists that they are sticking out, by now I'm

, so I said "then why did you pass me last year!?" and she goes on about it still sticking out. Then she goes " if you get fender flares it would be ok" so I said "ok", then she goes, "but if you put on rubber fender flares, you have to go get a recon sticker and bring the paper work back for me to pass you on a safety check". So, the next day I go through someone else and they pass me!. The whole point is everyone is interpreting the law different, some are strict, some are laxed, some are anal some are cool and use common sense, no consistency. Every thing has to pass recon to be "legal" for safety check. I'd love to lift my truck 4. 5 inches, throw on some 35s, rip out my muffler, but I just don't want to deal with the Bee Ess! Ok thanks guys for lettin me vent a little, ah I needed that.
