Just ordered one from National Tire, SkyJacker Part #7218. $93 shipped. Should have it on next week; I'll let you know how it goes. I'm hoping it'll help with the infamous wander. I noticed mine was in multiple pieces when I was trying to reattach my bumper trim this weekend... no wonder the steering is so light... no counter pressure. New ball joints going in the front drivers side today too.

Are these a straight forward bolt up?

Mark ,

Does the dual kit look like this? #ad

I ran the above setup. (This is a picture of Big Bad Dodge's truck) I didn't think 2 shocks worked any better than 1 when mounted near the OE Drag link stabilizer. You will need to drill a 1/2" hole for a mount bolt. The best dual setup I have found is running a stabilizer in the OE bracket off the steering drag link, and another one down on the axle. My dual skyjacker mount now has 1 shock only.

I feel a good steering stabilizer(s) tighten up the steering. They also absord the shock in the steering linkage. If you have a tire blowout, the stabilizer will help to keep you straight too.

I want to try the newest dual stabilizer from Rough Country/Heckethorn. An end-to-end dual setup. I have heard good things about it. Pictured below:

I have to agree with Hemi, I couldn't really feel any diference between the single and the double. If Skyjacker would have offered the end to end I think I would have opted for it. I don't believe it will fix the wondering thing either I still have it and about the only thing I haven't replaced is the steering box I have 60k so I guess it's time for the EGR box.

End to end looks like a good idea. Hadn't thought of it; the money's spent on the skyjacker. Same price as stock so I'll give it a shot.

You won't feel much difference in a single vs. double unless you run tires wider than 14. 50". The biggest difference would be if you were to run 12" wide wheels.

My dual end to end setup was one that I had for a Chevy 1-ton 4x4. It fits perfectly as long as you run a leveling kit or more to clear the cross over steering drag link.

Mark,

Brandon is right.

I dug up Skyjacker p/n 7218 and it is a 'Stem to stem' or 'end to end' dual stabilizers, like Berserker's & Wowzy's. This is a fairly new setup from Skyjacker. Maybe they did away with the 'stacked' duals. Good move.

Let us know whats up. This should work better than the 'stacked' duals. I found a stabilizer works much better when its down near the wheel.

I was looking for your picture last night Wowzy. #ad

I saw bigbaddodges setup tues night he came down to my shop with a few other tdr members and what a beauty of a truck with the shyjacker items on it

hey guys its in its the 7218 skyjerker, well it was a pita to install, not technically, but some modifications, we have a 2 inch level kit.....
The bottom line is we need the more steering dampning for trailering not for tires , I will post a pic it looks just like everyone elses, on quality of 1-10 it is a 6
keep this one up I am interested to see what overs have to say about it

Got it installed (Ranch Duals, #7218, they are end-to-end). Yep, pita. Woulda' been easy if the instructions had been correct. No C clamps with the kit (even though the directions read to use 2 C clamps to secure axle bracket). Went and bought them. Threads stopped too soon couldn't get tight. Bolt holes on axle mounting plate too close together, had to re-drill slightly to line up. Used 'D' bracket (guess that's why it came with the kit instead of 'C' clamps ehh?) mounted cross-ways over axle to cinch down support bracket -- worked great and tight as can be.

Steering doesn't get all loose after bumps in the road now. Still wanders, but dampened. I'd say 30-50% better. Worth it; especially since same price as stocker to replace.

PITA but it does what it is supposed to, Trim the threads on the back side of the clamps on the tie rods, I had an interference fit
B

BUT IT WORKS YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I just flipped the tie rod clamps so the bolts would be in back instead of the front.

The 'D' clamp didn't hold up. Found some 'C' clamps the right size today and put them on. Passenger side bracket would strike a bolt at full steer so had to trim that bracket. Still like them; just wish they'd be more meticulous about parts and directions (but that's true for about everyplace these days).
