OK as you can see by my signature I have one. My truck has sit about 2" too high since it was first installed. Skyjacker said to give it time to settle. 7 months later and its still too high. I called them today and now they say I need to add leafs to the rear to fix the problem. A problem I didn't have until I added their over leveling kit. So what I ended up with was too bad soo sad spend more money and you may be glad!! Very disappointed. Anybody else have the same experience????

Nope, haven't had this happen to me, but maybe it is time for a nice big winch so you can go over there to skyjacker headquarters and show them how well their leveling kit works at moving the CEO's car around the lot. HA HA, Sorry I hate hearing this kind of stuff; it really sucks to shell out bucks for junk that creates problems.
Good luck

I didn't have any problems with mine when I had it installed to put some 33x12. 5x16. 5 rims & tires on it-- lifted it about 2 inches as claimed--I've since lifted it more w/ the skyjacker 5" system and like this a lot--didn't they tell you it would lift it about two inches?? That's what the shop told me , but they never said anything about settling and I think that's where the problem is--why would it settle when it's intended to lift the front 2"--your shop or skyjacker misinformed you is what I think--It's too bad you don't like it, but I don't know what your recourse or remedy would be--put some 33" tires on it is my only suggestion, but that really isn't going to do anything except make your truck look better in my opinion--too bad it's not working out for you--good luck--chris

groundpounder,

Are you saying that the 2" leveling kit actually raised the truck 4" ??

Won't this present a problem with the stock control arms/ steering arm, etc... being at extreme angles (things that are normally replaced with the skyjacker 5" lift?

This is exactly what concerns me when considering the purchase of new springs to level the truck.

Thanks for the feedback.

My stock 2001 4x4 is 4" higher in the rear than the front.

groundpounder--my leveling kit was just a red spacer that sat on top of the springs and added 2" of lift to clear the bigger tires--now that I think about it maybe it wasn't a skyjacker but something else--it sounds like you got a lift kit and not the type of leveling kit that I had--I'll go check it later(it's in a box in the garage)to see who made it----chris

I purchased the Skyjacker 4" Softride lift for my '79 CJ-7 back in '94. The spring rate was so soft that the driver side sagged under my weight - 235lbs. Their response? Buy these add-a-leaves to correct the problem, there is too much variation in weight with Jeeps and we can't be responsible for all the configurations.

I was extremely disapointed with Skyjacker - in fact I was hung up on. I will never recommend nor purchase from Skyjacker. In fact, I came to find out from a buddy that works at 4WPW that they stopped selling Skyjacker because of these kinds of problems.

Groundpounder,

I installed Skyjackers leveling springs back in '95. They never settled. I didn't want them too. I'm still a little lower in the front than the rear.

Even though the front is higher than the rear now, you have to like it better than stock? It least you know you have a good quality spring that didn't settle to where your stock ones were.

Just raise the rear a little to even it out. Most lift kits are designed to have the front sit a little higher than the rear. Guys like the 'pre-runner look'.

Chris thanks for the information. I called Skyjacker 3x with no explanation of whats going on. I think next time I will do a better search on whats out there. I have used Skyjacker before with no problems other then the cheap paint they use, but other then that nothing. I am really pi$$ed off about this.

groundpounder,

My truck is also "raked" like they all are stock. I suppose it allows for slightly better fuel economy (less wind under the truck causing drag)

I would raise the concern, however, with Skyjacker regarding the extreme angles of the steering arm, etc. . If you are getting 4" of lift (2" that you expected and the additional 2" they threw in), I'd be worried. Their 5" lift kit comes with all kinds of other parts to ensure a "safe" ride and steering.

Good luck - I've been considering the leveling kit as well, but think I'll wait a bit... .

Scooby, you know how the diesels tilt in the front because of the weight of the motor? Well I hate that look and wanted mine to sit level as in when you look at the truck on level ground it looks flat dead level. Skyjacker assured me this leveling kit would take care of the problem. So 2 springs and 2 shocks later my truck now sits high in the front like I have something heavy in the bed. If I would of known this I would of left it stock. Skyjacker never even offered an explanation or even a small break on the leaf spring cost. I feel like they were just trying to get more money out of me.

Sounds like you got a set of 4" coils by mistake. My Skyjacker leveling kit raised my truck exactly 2 5/8" and is just about perfectly level. I've measured since I had it installed 18 months ago and it has settled only 1/16". I'm very satisfied with the results and when I go to a 5" kit this spring, I'll be glad to sell it to one of you guys shocks included.

WOWZY-

That does look good! I've been wanting to level my truck by raising the front end also. Could you give a brief description of what it took to install the kit?

Thanks,

Dave

Good looking truck WOWZY! I used the skyjacker 2"spacer on mine. It looks just like yours only about 1/2" lower in front. It raised it 2" just like they said. It gives it the appearance of being level though as 1/2" is not enough to tell. The spacers were only 200bucks installed with the alignment check.
