For those of you that have or are running the skyjacker softrides what kind of feed back can you give. I installed the skyjacker coils now my stock shocks are too short.

Jeff

I have the Skyjacker Nitro shocks, duals on front, singles on rear axle. They came with my 2 1/2" lift kit. At first, they sent me the wrong lower mounting bracket for the second (outside of the coil spring) shock, so I could only mount one shock on each side of the front axle. They were a bit rougher than the OEM shocks, but when I got the proper brackets and was able to mount both shocks on each front side, the ride is now quite a bit smoother than stock.

At some point I want Bilstein shocks all around though.

Tom

Will Bilsteins fit with the Skyjacker 2. 5" lift? My understanding was that stock shocks are a little too short, and I'm assuming that the Bilsteins are the same length as stock, not having seen them firsthand.

I'm considering a Skyjacker 2. 5" lift kit (albeit for my '92), so I'm curious what my options are in this area.

I installed the the 2 1/2" front coils 2 weeks ago. now when I go over a speed bump my stock shocks are topping out. the coils have my truck sitting just a tad too high so I am going to put the skyjacker add-a-leafs in the rear. I think the double shock set-up like Tom has on his truck would be hard to beat.

I went with a full lift kit, as I wanted the new control arms and the duwl front shock brackets in addition to the taller coil springs.

Yes, the stock height Bilsteins are probably a wee bit too short, although several folks have previously posted that they will fit with a 2 1/2" lift... . Bilstein is now supposed to have longer shocks specifically made for lifted trucks and made heavy duty for lifted diesel pickups, although I do not have or know those part numbers. People usually suggest calling Bilstein directly and they will get you all the info you need.
