Well OK, not quite slammed, but I did lower the rear end. The main reason for doing this was to level it out for towing. The drop hitch is already at the lowest setting so now I might even move it up a notch. I had a local spring shop install shorter spring blocks and new U-bolts and while they were at it, I had them remove the overload springs. The total drop turned out to be 2 3/4" and the lower body lines are now parallel to the road. The change in stance is quite noticeable and in my opinion, much improved. There is no noticeable difference in handling due to the slightly different steering geometry but it doesn't feel anymore like you're going downhill all the time. I noticed that the driveshaft is pushed further into the t-case so I put a little oil around where it goes into the seal. I also aimed the headlights down 1/2 turn and may need to adjust them some more later. Total cost was $136. Not too bad compared to DC's $1200 for their lowering kit.
