Does anybody know if the slave cylinder for my 97 B5. 9 is the same as the one for the V-10's?

My parts guy at the dealership says they are one in the same and the one for the V-10 is a lot cheaper. I figured someone here has tried this?

TIA

Deezul, I installed a new clutch from Peter (If I remember correctly 13"Con OFE) a couple of months ago. The dealership did a real crappy job.

A little background on what I've been dealing w/:

I picked the truck up after closing hours and I couldn't even get it into gear. So next AM I called Peter and he said, new slave cylinder or possibly bent disc.

I bought one, but it still engaged on the floor and jumps very bad down shifting or backing up or starting of loaded heavy. Peter said to give the clutch awhile to break-in and see if it helps, otherwhise the moron mechanic probably bent the disc on install. Well, 2 months and 2500 miles and its not any better. So I am going to try another slave cylinder and talk to Peter.

Which brings me back to my original ? of the V10 slave cylinder and it being the same and much cheaper than the one for our diesels?

Thanks for the info guys!
