Hey 0013,

Will you guys be camping or staying in a hotel? I'm trying to get an idea how many RVers we will have - a lot I think. If you are staying in a hotel, you should get together with some of the others who are doing that. Looking forward to meeting everyone. This is going to be good boys and girls.

Craig

we'll be staying in a hotel. any recommendations? itll be 4 adults (myself, wife, brother-in-law, wife) we plan on getting there late fri/early sat after duty as were coming from Luke Air Force Base AZ. really looking forward to it. :D

Holiday Inn - 661 723-2001

Oxford Inn - 661 949-3423

These two spots are in Lacaster. Pretty close to the event. I know Scott (BBD) is staying at the Holiday - Its not real cheap though. I believe the Oxford is a little cheaper, just down the street from eachother. I know some are staying in Mojave. That is cheaper but a little farther and not much there. Not that Lancaster is Disneyland or anything. If enough of you can get together, you might go for a group rate. Keep in mind, the actual event doesn't start until Sunday, but I know a lot of you that are traveling are staying some extra nights which makes sense. I just don't want people to expect to see the event happening on Sat. We will just be setting up. The cool thing is, once you pay to get in, Fri, Sat, or Sun, you are good for the weekend. Its going to be lots of fun.

Craig

Did somebody say BEER Oo.

Craig, you are so wrong dude, the event starts Saturday in the Holiday INN parking lot :D just like TIM baby !!!!

Craig:

I did some checking on

www.mapquest.com

and Mojave is actually slightly closer than the Holiday Inn (19. 34 vs 19. 58 miles) and is also about $45 a nite cheaper. I am staying at the Best Value Inn in Mojave, Scotty tried to get a room there, but they have a

policy and it is strictly enforced :-laf :-laf :-laf

Na, I just tried to be nice and get a place away from you because I know you go to bed at 7:00 and we will just be starting to party about that time :-laf

BBD

Where is the camping located in relation to the event? Anything like Tulare? Is it big enough to put our rigs in a circle so we can keep the Indians (Ford guys) out ;)

I appreciate that, keeping up my fine, youthful, studlike appearance does take a lot of maintenance, and getting my beauty sleep is very important.

:D :D :D

Big Jake: Don't know anybody by the name "Cliffie". LOL. At that point in time I believe Psycho owned a dodge so he got special admittance, as far as Zip goes he must have snuck in hiding behind Psycho’s bark-o-lounger :-laf . Besides, he had the beer man.

Big Bad: Didn't know those boys down south carried purses  :-laf. Hmmm, Maybe I should re-think this event. :D :D

Don't know where the camping is but it is all desert out here!Miles and miles of it!!If it's where i think it is there will be plenty of room. If it were me I would stay in Lancaster in sted of mojave. There is a lot more to see and do and eat than in mojo. but that is just a locals point of view.

Party in the Holiday Inn Parking lot?

BBD,

If your going to be partyin' it up on Saturday night, I am down to meet up with ya. Let me know and I'll head out there, Lancaster is only like an hour or less away from me. What kinda beer you drink, so I can add to the stock?

Joe

Alright group,

As for RV camping, it is right at the event just like Tulare. You could throw a rock at the Sled Pull Course from your camper(not recommeded) Plenty of room to set up RV's any way you like. RV guys get the preferred spots, if we get as many as I think we might, the general parking group will get bumped further down the road. Either way, plenty of room for everyone. The sooner you get there on Sat. , the better spot for your RV. Anyone that wants hookups though will need to arrange that with Willow Springs, those spots are a few hundred yards away and cost extra money. :{

Hey Big Jake, I stand corrected on the distance, but mojave seems futher I guess, nothing between there and Willow. Can't beat that price though, thats for sure.

As for the party, you all have it wrong - that will be located at the RV's on Saturday night - I say everyone comes there, its right in the middle of Mojave and Lancaster Oo. By the way, I drink Coors Light :-laf

And don't forget, bring shade with you, and some chairs maybe too, If this goes as planned, we are going to fill up the grandstands in a hurry. There will be good seating with chairs though, we will also have lots of hay bales out there to sit on.

Craig

Craig,Well we just got the news we are working Saturdays for the next month!Don't even get to go in early. Regular shift 4:00pm to 12:30am. We got the asphalt contract for the Hyundi(?)test track in California City,2500 tons a day for 25 days straight!By the time I get to Willow it would be 1:30-2:00am. Let me know if ya all will still be up!

Mike

Bummer Mike. Maybe you will come down with something that night - cough cough :D

I'd tell you we would save you some beer, but I really can't promise that.

Craig

Craig, where is "the RV's?" Is that some KOA campground or something between Lancaster and Mojave on the 14 freeway? I like Scott's idea of doing it around the Holiday Inn cuz at least we would be right at the inn and have a place to stay incase the drinking gets out of hand.

Too bad, I used to be a Coors light guy, but Miller Lite has become pretty addicitve. :-laf But I can settle for Coors light. :D

No, the RV's are the motorhomes that will be at Willow right at the location of the event. For those of us staying there, that is the place to be as we are camping there, don't have to drive anywhere all weekend. For those that are moteling, if you plan to party it up hard, probably best to do it at the motels like you said so you dont' have to drive anywhere. But there will be a lot of us RVing at Willow, Most definitely BBQing, BSing, benchracing, and beer of course. Lots of fun. So, the more we can get to come there the better. Its only 10 or 15 minutes from the motels. But whatever works for everyone is fine with me. Are we there yet? Going to be a long few weeks.
