tell us how it works out---

me I don't manually shift my transmission during a pull--it does just fine by itself--plus you can accidently put it in N or R and we know that that isn't smart--O/D off---transmission in D and t-case in 4lo---build boost and then pin the pedal---good luck... ..... chris

Csutton:

On a 12 with 4000 gov spring in the pump what is the rpm's going to go to? When I pulled it reved way past 4000 rpm, I had to let off, just kept it at 3400. Do you really want to just pin the pedal. I don't like the idea of not knowing what rpm you are at.

I've talked to a couple people on the phone, including past pullers at Muncie, and, as Kurt, and Chris said,, If you have the power, run 3rd.

I have a very Loose TC (~80%) and will need to lock it up. I'm still trying to decide when to lock it up. I want the least drivetrain shock, so I guess once it's in 3rd, and the wheels are turning, I could see how it "feels" and if it could take a TCC Lock or not.

I'll be shifting manually, like at the track, since my VB/transmission is setup to shift at only 3,000RPM @ WOT.

What are yall able to pull (RPM) in 3rd gear? Are yall falling back in your TQ Band?

Does "Sawing" on the steering wheel really help any?

Is the truck "downshifting" a big worry? I'm afraid I'll be 5' before my truck stops, and the trans will downshift, inducng a huge shock on the drivetrain, resulting in guranteed broken parts.

Short of a manual VB, is there anyway to prevent this?

(I guess with HP, wheel speed will stay up?)

Thanks,

Merrick
