Was wondering if anyone could help me out?? I'm kinda new to sled pulling but I have pulled several times but I'm looking for a few tricks for my chassis setup to sled pull with. I'll be running in street classes this year. Oh and I also have a set of 5 ft Ladders on the truck. .

These are rules that are a No Go. .

1. No solid, blocked or air bag suspensions. .

2. No hanging front weights or weight bars. .

Also I've been told If I move my my Hitch forward on the truck it will help me. . Is this true??

Does anyone have some ideas that will help me out??

i you dont haul very much try this. get some spring packs off of a semi trailer, or something heavy duty of that sort, and relpace your stock overloads the the spring packs. you may want to take a few leaves out so you aren't hitting the bumpers with them on the highway, it makes for a rough ride if not. and you will need to get some long u-bolts. my buddy ran his truck most of last year like this and im going to do it to my truck for this year. its like having a solid rear end when the springs hit, but it still gives :-laf

With the Semi-Trailer Leafs are they 3" wide?? I tried to find some Semi Leafs but they were all to wide and way to Long. . I've heard that you can cut them but aren't they hardened Spring Steel? I didn't think you could cut them. . I don't know. . I do have a set of leaf springs here at my house that came off a 79 F250 but they aren't as thick as the ones on the truck. . One spring is about the same arch as my overload and has some decent strength to it. The ohter looks like I'd have to add it under my spring pack in order to get it to fit right. I was thinking about adding that spring and another long leaf to my current pack but wasn't sure if that would even help me at all? However a friend of mine did tell me to try and find a set of truck springs. .

the springs we got, i think were off a pup trailer. i think there were six leaves in the pack, we took 2 out. they were the same width and the length was a little longer than the stock overload. we got them from another friend whose grandparents own a brick, block ect. company and they came off one of the trailers there. i know there is another set there i can get for my truck. i wish i know a little more to help you out. one more thing if you do find something that works, you know you will need longer u bolts, but try to get a bigger diamiter as well. you will have to drill out the saddle for them to fit, but its a little insurance if you cant run traction bars like us.

We can run traction bars that's no problem. I have a set of 5' Fabritech (not the suspension lift company) Ladder Bars. Honestly, I wouldn't hook to the sled without a set. I will search around some more I have alot of work to do to my truck yet but I'll try to keep you posted...
