Sled pulling in the SW MO area

Is there much of the way of sled pulling in the SW, MO area, about half way between Joplin, and Kansas City.

I dont pull myself but my buddy does, I count maybe 5 or 6 pulls that I know of off hand from about 50 miles west of stl to near KC and around the ozarks. Lots of county fairs as well.

Pulls

When I went to college at Missouri State (Springfield) there was a fairly good sized organization of gas pickups 3 different classes that ean is SW Missouri. I have not been back since 2002 so I can't be for sure, but with the popularity of diesel truck pulling I am sure it caught on or will in the near future.

There are a few organizations for Smoker Tractors and Gas Trucks but until recently, they didn't have sanctioned diesel classes. At most pulls, they would have an unsanctioned "street" truck class that is "run what ya brung" and they would pay a few bucks. In recent years, these became defacto diesel truck pulls because of the increase in popularity of the aftermarket. I know that NWMTPA now has a sanctioned diesel class (8500#) with rules and such... MSTPA is probably your best(closest) bet but I don't think they have a sanctioned class... best to call ahead on that one. I don't know much about MMTTPA because they're a bit far into Missouri for us to be concerned with prior to this year... they now have a sanctioned street diesel class.

Thier is a truck class in richmond, 30 min north of KC. I know thier are a few more in the area, but not sure where. I will talk to a budy tomarrow and let you know.

Depends on what happens with work. I looked at the appleton area, right now I am looking at several places. NW PA, central KY, SW MO. It is kind of a tough decision cause family is close right now, so should no something in a few weeks.

I didn't find any south of KC. I did find a lot east and north of KC. St. Joe the 26th of this month. King City 6/9, Coffey 6/23, Brulington Jct. 7/6, Faucett 7/7, Richmond 7/14, Maryville 7/21, Agency 7/27, Hardin 7/28, Platte City 8/10. Hope that helps.

There are plenty around. You can almost always find one with in 100 mile radius of KC just about any weekend during pulling season. There are a few people around here that always know where to go to find one. You can contact me directly, or John Issacs with Floor It Diesel, or Steve Webster with St. Joe Diesel. I did not go and have heard on who all did go yet. I was tied up doing something else.



However for those that aren't aware or forgot. There will be a pull in St. Joe on May 26th. Same place as before. If you've never been there google the stock yards in St. Joe, MO maybe you'll find an address. I will try to get an exact address this evening. If I can find it I will post. Otherwise you can PM or Call me and I will give you directions.

Did anyone go to Garden City last night? If so how was it, results? I was in St. Joe working for the day and didnt get out of there till LATE. So I couldnt make it.
