For the Heavyweight puller guys, the competition isn't that developed around here--where Mark will pull mostly.

We don't see twins and 6000RPM launches. :--)

A few guys are running big singles and tickling 4000RPM and Mark is talking about having fun, not dominating the track. Now how he can keep it down to FOUR hooks, I don't know. We're looking at 3 pulls in my county alone next season. :D Plus all the practice hooks...

I don't recommend the 40 either, but what do I know. Run whatchabrung!

Very well said Wade. Thank you.

As for the four hooks. I probably won't be able to make it to EVERY pull down here, and I won't pull up north unless I can get a tow truck to haul my truck up there. Also what would be the point of pulling @ TiM, or Scheid?:--) :-laf

Just to say you pulled at the biggest Diesel events in the world, and placed-- somewhere.

I would rather pull and lose, than run on a dyno!LOL:D

I enjoyed pulling at Scheid's this year. I agree with Gene, for me it wasn't about winning. I placed halfway through the pack (7200 class). I was happy with it considering I pulled with an HX35 (now sitting on my shop floor), bottom dollar fueling box (now sitting on my shop floor), and no ladder bars (the parts are sitting on my shop floor). I got spanked by some of the bigger guys but still had a blast. Have a good one, andy

Got smoke,if you cant afford a $1500 turbo, I have to wonder how you can afford the risk of hooking to the sled. Pulling is expensive, 1500 is a drop in the bucket,it doesnt even cover a good pulling clutch,or a good single turbo. I have a broken parts shelve,LOL. I consider myself to have been very lucky, and the shelve has way more than 1500 in damage on it:D :D ,in 2 yrs time between racing, and the occasional pull. I never broke pulling yet,but my day will come.

You mean all those guys that hooked out here in September with stock trucks--shouldn't have?

You HAVE to buy a pulling clutch and a pulling turbo BEFORE you play?

We thinks not. Andy, Jay, and Gap looked like they were having quite a bit of fun with stock equipment at our last local pull. We're not trying to compete with the BIG dogs, just having fun. We're still trying to build the group up, not scare everybody off.

Just like with any sport, some people take it REAL seriously. I don't blame 'em either. They pay and deserve to play. As Wade said though, to us, this is just pure fun. When we pulled at Ivy Bluff, we knew who the serious pullers were, and knew that our hook fee was a sunk cost. We did it for kicks. Just like all of our get-togethers, we're just out to smell diesel fumes, drink a beer and talk CTD.

What I'ma sayin' is... Like a lot of us, Mark's on a tight budget, and wants to make the most of what he's already invested in. His goat won't ever be a dedicated puller I don't imagine. Like the rest of our group, it's a daily driver, puller, dragger, mud bogger, etc... .

and Hey Mark, might want to get with Gap... he is just getting to know a custom turbo builder in Jackson. Seems to think he's a pretty sharp guy.

again, just my . 02

Take Care Guys,

Andy

What other choice do you have?

Have you guys never heard of the B1? It is a tank, compare it to the HX-40 you will see there really is no comparison.

A little spendy? Yes it is, but if your pulling or barking all the time it is certainly cheaper than 2 HX-40's. Egt's are alot lower and cool down time is almost none existant.

Not affiliated just VERY happy with mine, do a search and look for yourself... . there are options.

I'm getting ready to drop about $2400 for a clutch and input shaft.

Therefore "I cannot afford a $1500 turbo":p

And as I have clearly stated I do not plan on making this a habit, and as my friends have said we're just out to have fun.

Hey Moderator's somebody wanna lock this one up for me. Its gone.

I have pulled with mine and towed alot in the last 2 years, Keep the boost under control and you can pull as much or as little as you want. Is it the best turbo for pulling, no : will it do the job, YES
