Air ride-anyone in Denver area?

Bush Responds to Reporter's Question

O. It's killin' me. We have ALOT of Snowmobile enthusiasts here on the board. Now is it killing ANYONE as to how bad you want to go out and rip it up a bit ... ... or even take a long trail ride somewhere? I am goin out of my mind!!!!

'01 zrt 600

'04 RX~1 Warrior ..... SOOOOON!!!!!!!!!

Calm down, Tim- Winter and snow will be here soon. Sooner for some of us (lovin life here @ 10,000 feet:D ) I'm waiting for snow too! So I can ski though. If you like 'sleddin that much, you've got to try it out here! Powder, powder, powder! Damn it, Tim- Now I'm gettin depressed that it's still summer! -frank

slow down a bit boys plow season will be here soon enough... lets have bit O color and indian summer [about 75* degrees would be much better than what we have had so far :D ]

So what's the killer go fast technology in sled motors? I heard there are large 3 cylinder 2 strokes running around out there. They remind me of the Kawasaki 500 & 750 triples of the 70's.

every year for the past 3 years tech has trippled itself. My ZRT 600cc tripple suzuki motor rips. Now that Yamaha stepped up to the plate with it's RX~1 (1000 cc 4 stroke) Arctic cat now makes a TURBO 600 4 stoke. Things are getting hairy thats for sure. Ski doo ... . out of the ball park with the rev series.

The hot sleds? The new Yamaha 1000cc r stroke R-1 bike powered sled is supposed to be pretty nice. I really liked my F-7 after I got enough sharp studs in it and the rear suspension cross-linked to hook up. The Rev 800 should be nice too.

The triple 2 stroke hot rods are about gone. The twins are about there power-wise but are smaller and lighter (the engine and the sled it fits in).

I can't wait for it to snow again. I used to work as a test rider for Arctic Cat back in the late 90's and we would have to ride a minimum of 180 miles a day in a 8 hour period. I spent 9 months out of the year on the road (7 days a week, 12 hours a day) and the other 3 months riding on a 1. 3 mile long dirt test track at the factory which has since been changed to asphalt.

The latest I have ever driven in snow is July 1st. we were testing the 98 ZR prototypes in Hyder Alaska and had to have the sleds dropped above the snow line by helicopter and then ride the same helicopter every morning up the mountain to ride. It was awesome to be able to do that and get paid for it. I was riding sled that wern't coming out for a couple more years, and it was by far the best job I ever had. I had the oppertunity to see some of the most beautiful places that the U. S. and Canada have to offer. I hope you guys out west realize how lucky you are. The Wife and I would move out there in a second if I could find a mechanics job out there that pays as well as I make now.

The snow sucks around here, I've only ridden about 30 miles in the last 2 years.

Let it snow

Kurt.

Kurt, did you work with Kirk, Mike and Greg from the rce department much? I get up there every year for race school. Last year I told them to keep their Sno-Pro and send me a check.

Hey, I still love my XLT triple. It's been tweaked a bit andn it keeps up with all of my fellow riders new sleds!! Actually beats most of them. Of course it rev's to just over 10,000 RPM's. What a ride!!!! Plus, with the deletion of a sled payment it leaves me more to put inot the CTD :D :D

Yes Extreme1 I was lucky enough to work with all of those guys.

One fall I had the chance to ride With Kirk Hibbert and Brad Pake. We were up in Thompson Manitoba and Kirk was looking for a really really rough trail to test some new suspension stuff on and I told him about a trail on the north end of Paint Lake that at time was kinda rough but it was about the best we would find due to lack of snow. He asked me to show him the trail and I did and once we were on it I was behind both of them and could keep up pretty good for about the first 10 miles but I started to lose it fast after that and they just kept on going like they were out for a Sunday cruise. I consider myself a pretty good rider and can usally show my snowflap to whoever I ride with but those two and all of the Pros are in a class of their own.

I really miss that job and a couple of years ago I had the chance to go back and do it again but I am married now and it is definately a job for someone single(very good nightlife).

Can't snow soon enough.

Kurt.

Dude I'll be there in 10 minutes

That's a he!! of a CTD to be here in 10 minutes!:D

We actually got only a couple o' three inches on several peaks at about the 13,500 range and above. Most will prolly be gone this week, but it is evidence that Ole' Man Winter will soon be here. I am not the sled head that you are, but have co- workers who are into it as well as my boss. We have an informal 6" powder rule at work.

Bring it onOo. Oo. Oo.

So who's been rippin' it up? Came back from pitberg N. H and the trails were perfect (Justa a shade over 400 miles perfect) Goin up to VT possibly this weekend to do some backwoods barnstorming.

The RX update. The warrior with its 1000 cc motor out of the R1 seems to pull at ANY rpm. Does not care what speed you pull from you will just walk away from many sleds. Kinda angry in the corners but managable. if I had a gripe ..... clutching. goin down the steep stuff the clutch will disengage @ 5000 rpm's leaving you to either grab some throttle or a handfull of brake. As for lake speeds ... 121 Mph and I am sure if I set the sled up 100% for the elevation I was at she would have more ... sooner. Happy as heck with it. Oh and those classic Yamaha grip warmers double as a cigarette lighter ... absolutly the hottest grips I have had yet (And the ZRT is a close seccond)
