This is the situation: I have a reg cab (1990 had no extended cab) with an aluminum cap. On long trips my wife and I sleep in the truck and the dog rides in the front between us

. This works fine unless we are in the south in the summer or the north in the winter. I have put insulation on the roof of the cap which helps a lot but that means I can now get about a 10 degree difference from the outside. I could tint the windows but I'm fighting a losing battle. We are also planning on a child in the not so distant future. I need more room and the ability to control the temp better. The dog would appreciate it if I could do this also and she is a little large to ride between us on a long trip. I've also been informed that the 'new' bigger truck that I was hoping for is not an option.

What I'm looking for is a sleeper that gives the dog a spot in the temp controled cab AND something that covers the rest of the truck like the existing cap. Does anyone know of such a thing or where to get one? I would also like to hear from those who have a sleeper and give me opinions on what to get if I should even bother.
Thanks
