Taxes are taxing...

Any one have a slide in camper in a Mega cab? I have a 8 foot camper to put in mine (worked fine in my Dmax 6' box). The camper is not very heavy (1200# empty) and the center of gravity is all the way fwd on the camper. Did you need a sway bar? or any other info you found the hard way.

I think the COG all the way fwd will be your issue. These trucks have so little room to spare on the front GAWR that its very easy to get them over. I have been over 5K on mine with just some hunting gear and an elk in the bed...

The COG being so far forward with that camper should be to your benefit as your load will be situated so far back on that platform.

I'm running a Truck Camper on my Mega. I added the sway bar and airbags before buying the camper. Drove my friends Mega with TC and no sway bar. It makes a difference. I'm running an IPD (Now Roadmaster) rear sway bar. Bought it used.

I know I will need bags (I will be towing my jeep also) and guessed the sway bar, just wanted to see what is working.

Thanks for the info!

A Mega with a slide in camper and the Jeep? I recommend a Torklift SuperHitch and Torklift extension. I bought my Torklift Fastguns from Gibby's RV in Oregon. They had the best price on Torklift stuff. I bought other Torklift stuff locally on Craigslist.

This same set up (camper and trailer, Bags and sway bar) worked just fine with my old Dmax short box and a 3" over stock lengh hitch. I have a new trailer with a longer toung, so I am not positive what It is going to take, and I have not had time to load camper and check trailer yet.

Guess I just wanted to see what is working for other rigs, Torklift stuff looks nice, never herd of them befor.
