slide in camper ???????????

I found the 1995 Dodge last year and paid 23,000. Some say a bit much but everywhere I go someone always ask If It for sale been offered 35,000 for It. Maybe two fools met but I am keeping it for ever.

Slide In

I figure loaded up I am running about 12K LBS. Stock motor and air bags. The truck handles the weight just fine. I have a slide out. I Love the floor space. I have not had any problems with the slide out. I have had the camper out in 0* weather and stayed toasty warm. I will be testing out the AC when we drive through Death Valley this summer. I have 2 7 gal LP tanks, 40 Gal FW, 30 Gal black, 30 gal grey. I opted for the wet bath. The Dry bath added 1. 5 ft. The big limiting factor will be how much you are going to spend. I would recommend an aluminum construction frame and not wood. If you buy a used wood frame buy it in an dry state and when you get it home run Parr Bond around every seam.

I haul a Lance 1161 on an 05 Dually 6-speed. Our trip from Seattle to Bloomington, Indiana, to Southern Utah this Spring was uneventful. I have a Hellwig swaybar, RS9000X shocks, and Firestone Ride Rite airbags. About 60-70 PSI in the bags and the shocks adjusted to maximum provide for a great ride. Truck weighs in at 8K empty and 12K loaded. Handles just fine on the road in every condition we encountered including severe thunderstorms in Kansas. I had a 2001 Auto Dually QC rigged for this camper. It was set up identically and handled the load just as well.

Running a 97 2500 with factory overload springs, Firestone Ride Rite, Hellwig sway bar, KYB shocks, EGR brake componets. The best add on to reduce sway was 19. 5 wheels and tires. It is much easier to drive than with the load range E 16" stuff out there.



Wife uses it most of the time.
