Heavy towing with 48RE

Second try to post this , Found the gear set a dealer in Ind ,replaced gears . Slide will move in but will not stop motor when all way in , motor will blow fuse if direction is switched . Normal when switch is pushed slide moves from stop in one direction and if switch is pressed slide stops if switch is pushed again slide should switch directions . Mine in stead of switch of direction it just blows fuse. There is a adjustment that could be made according to the book that came with the trailer its located under the fridge . way in the back the adjustment wheel looks like a red knob with a white center with a slot small in center Arrow on cover shows direction to max or min. Any one know of this adjustment ,and is this the correct adjustment knob . This is a used trailer and I have never had to adjust the slide at all . The book that came with the trailer don't say much in the way of fixing any problems . Hope some one knows and will help me out . Thanks for any help . The device you are referring to is a current sensing switch similar to the the electric window switch in your truck. When the window hits the stops, the motor stalls increasing the current and triping the switch. Likely the slide controller current setting is too high and the fuse is rated lower. So instead of kicking out the controller switch, it blows the fuse. It should say on the adjustment which way to turn it for less force or current. I ran into the same problem when I first got my Newmar trailer. It instead stripped the gears in the transmission of the motor instead of blowing the fuse. PM me if you need more help. Hope that helps.
