??? Best Gooseneck ??? Best Price.

rear stabelizer.

We've owned the 5th wh. camper for 6 years, but this summer is the first year we are going my leave "set up" all summer in a camp at the lake. .

Should I leave the slideout "out" all the time, or just put it out when we are there on weekends???

Does anyone here have have this problem?

TIA

I live in mine trailer full time ( almost 2 years now ) & haven't noticed any problems with the slides out. I did pull them in, however, when I was gone for an extended time of more than a month.

I think as long as you clean the roof and keep it "conditioned", assuming it's a rubber roof, and keep the seals clean and conditioned, it should be OK out. I store mine in the yard both ways, but you could close it every once in a while to make sure the mechanism stays lubed and functional.

From what I have seen, my only recomendations would be to not use those jacks under the slide out. I saw one that they left the slides out, and had jacks under them. As the camper setteled (tires loosing air, etc) the slide out moved and allowed water in which made a mess of the inside panneling.

I always store mine with the slide in, no marks on the carpet or floor.

I leaave mine set up at the campgroung all summer. We use it most weekends, used to close the rooms everytime we left until the gaskets at the slides started to split so now I leave them open. As was said above never put jacks under the slides-they are designed to be self supporting.

Mine has been parked with the slides out for over two years in Indiana or Oregon to serve as my home away from home while I'm transporting trailers. I haven't noticed any adverse effects. The only times the slides have been retracted was when I moved the trailer from one park to another or one state to another. I don't see any problem with leaving them out.
