just wondering?I have had my #8 plate over two weeks now and I think I am becoming immune to the new power. I need just a little more. If I slide my plate like I hear a lot of people do. How much forward do I slide it?will I tell a difference?I installed the #8 in the exact location as the stock plate

Sliding the plate

. 035" is good for about 30hp:D

Just curious, I also have the #8 plate. What happens if you slide it all the way forward? What are the pros and cons considering I have the stock 180 HP injectors? Too much fuel for the injector size? I guess I'm getting a slight case of bomb disease but my motor runs so nice now I don't want to screw it up either.

If a #8 is the 230 HP/ 605 torque, that's what I have in my 97. I slid it forward about 1/4" but had too much smoke & wasted fuel at too low a RPM, & some TC clutch slippage. I moved it back to a spot about 1/16" ahead of stock, & it has all kinds of power & response. Sunday I had it dyno'd at a hotrod shop, and at 2300 RPM, it put out 278. 8 HP to the rear wheels, with toruqe reading of over 646. Otherwise stock, with 132,000 miles! Would have done better with some fuel additive & a cooler day, it was 95 degrees in the shop at the time. They tested it twice in locked up 3rd.
