Smokin Dodge said the oblong holes are for moving the plate. Yes, I understand and did that. I also noticed the AFC housing cover that is held down by 4 bolts (1 being the breakoff bolt) has oblong holes in it that allow it to slide back and forth about 1/8 inch. Thus you can move the fuel plate and also move the AFC housing cover on top of it. Does sliding the cover have the same affects and to which direction does sliding the cover have what affect?

Visualize increased rack travel.....

The direction you want it to move is towards the radiator... . anything that can make the rack move in that direction will give you more rack travel.

The "increased rack travel = more horsepower" (or less horsepower) thing has been beaten to death many times before... . my suggestion is that you come to your own conclusions as to whether you like more or less rack travel.

PWeber,

It's sometimes hard to get your point across through the internet, but I don't think anyone has answered your question yet. I think you are talking about the adjustment on the front of the AFC housing. It has the shape of a piece of pie and it is held tight by a single bolt.

This adjustment raises and lowers the 'finger' in the AFC housing. If you look closely at the tip of the 'finger' it has a taper to it.

Raising the "finger" allows more fuel.

Hope that helps.

I stand corrected... .

Interesting... . I thought that was only a 'non-cool' adjustment... .

Of course, if you don't have a 'finger' then this adjustment doesn't matter. :D

Strick-9,

thanks for the response. So, I have seen many topics on sliding the plate. Now hearing the AFC housing will slide a little too. Is there much talk about adjustment via this "pie" shaped washer that is held down by the bolt? If not is it more of a finite adjustment to the fuel plate or what?
