Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Sliding the plate forward

Just a quick question for the guys who have slid there plates forward. Have you had to adjust your governor arm at all?



I know when I installed my #4 plate I did have to adjust the arm a little bit. I guess after I play with the plate I'll just check the arm, but was just curious before I started.

On my 95 it wasn't nessecary. It runs just fine

My '98 seemed to be ok after I modified the plate.

I had a Banks plate in when I did my 3gsk and I definately needed a gov lever adjustment. But to my surprise, after talking with Mark @ Peirs I installed a #10 plate and the gov lever was back hitting the profile of the plate. Much easier than trying to adjust that PITA lever with the limited access one has behind the pump.

So it looks to me like it all depends on the plate profile as some are fine and others need adjustment.
