I have a '95 3500 2wd 5spd and every since I bought the truck back in '01 I have noticed a slight vibration when you have the truck stopped and in neutral and rev it slowly. You can feel it anywhere from 1300 to 1900 RPM. After about 1900RPM it smooths out and no vibration is felt. It is not a bad vibration but you can feel it in the gas pedal, steering wheel, and even slightly in the dash. Anybody else have this vibration?

Sandifer - If its an automatic check the bolts on the flexplate of the torque converter. Several years ago I had similar vibrations. The gear shift lever really began to resonate at between 50-70. Could feel it in the wheel, dash and gear selector. Then one day, I was on my way home and I heard a
I was only a mile away from home so..... I looked around and saw nothing. Drove the truck some more and all seemed OK. The next I was heading to the airport to rent a plane to build some flight time and it started to make one hell of a racket. Sounded like I was in a steel drum with someone beating on the outside. Long story short I had to replace the torque converter and every 30,000 miles I have the flex plate bolts checked for tightness.

Dmoon thanks for the info but mine is a manual 5speed. The only time I notice the vibration is when I am sitting still with my transmission in nuetral.

HI,

I have a 95 2500 5spd which has uneven operation in the 1000 to 1600 rpm range. I tried really hard to get Dodge to do something about it when it was new. They did change some injectors, but no real help. Finally, they referred me to a Cummins shop and the folks there said it was caused by an imbalance in the injector pump output during the time the pump was comming off idle. In other words, a pump position problem more than an RPM problem. It just happens to show up, ulnloaded, in this RPM range.

They said that even though it was not exactly right, Dodge would not pay for setting it up right. In their words, they said that Dodge guarantees the truck to work, but not peferectly. They did say it could be fixed, (This was several years ago) for about $800, I am sure that you could beat this price if you are really bothered by it.

So, if this sounds familiar, you might just want to get used to it like I did.
