Wondering if someone has a suggestion for my steering being so sloppy. I replaced the pitman arm because of it being bad, tried tightening the front wheel bearings. Even had the alignment checked and they said it was good. Do you think a front end rebuild would help. I know the plow put's a little weight on the front end, any suggestions are appreciated. Thank's Joe

There is a write up about this in the FAQ. The stock shaft is a piece of crap, and you'll want either a Borgeson or a Flaming River steering shaft.

Joe,

Two things you might check are the upper and lower ball joints and the steering gearbox mounting plate. The 4x4 models are bad about cracking the frame or the steering gearbox mounting plate. A new plate is about $20 from D-C. Might have to use a wire brush to clean everything up well enough to see the cracks. The upper ball joints can be change with a small amount of effort and for under $150. The lower ball joints take more work and will cost you around $300 (I think). Hope this helps you get pointed in the right direction.

Go to page five of this forum and look at the post "lots of help need" by Markha1. Several comments about steering problems and things you might want to read.

Also I should have mentioned that I get a wobble sometimes when I lightly use the brakes looked at the rotor and pads and they look good.
