Wow - a must have to tow.................

Anyone know of a small Diesel, under 15 HP, under 150 pounds, that would be about golf cart size?

Aquired a golf cart, that was supposed to run good, just smoke a lot. Well someone was smoking something.

Can't find any name on the engine except "Club Car. "

Lombardini makes small diesels.

This was about the physical size of my 22HP mower engine, even though it was a one lung job.

YES! The local dealer called it a "290" but didn't know crap about it. Might be able to find reasonable parts, now.

Any idea the HP rating? Been checking ebay on small Diesels, 10 HP and down.

10HP Yanmar is considerably larger than the 290, take a bit of fabrication.

Gene, do you need a horizontal shaft engine? There are a few choices, mostly Chinese imports (fairly cheap, but if you break it good luck getting service/parts). I thought about getting a 5hp one for my go-kart, I have seen a couple that don't weigh much more than a Briggs. Vaughn

Sleddy, there's a place about an hour from me that makes/sells Club Car's.

Name of it is Vic Gerard in Farmingdale, NJ.

Maybe they would know of a drop in engine?

Eric

too bad physical size and weight are an issue, as word out west has it that you have the horsepower nailed down if you just pull the one out of your truck

:D :D :D

big jake

THE FORD GUY Oo. Oo. Oo.

That was a thought Jake, because we could run at the strip, with the little beast, and lay it to those wimp dragracers. :p

Thinking a 4" straight pipe stack would be about right on a Yanmar?

I happen to know of a twin turboed lawn tractor that is making close to 50 lbs of boost that would take you up on that race :D

HA! Located a Briggs and Stratton, made in Germany, single cyl, 3300 RPM, about 25 years old.

May be a tad underpowered, but cool enough I has got to try it!! Oo.

Picking it up tomorrow morning, will post pictures.

He said shes a smoker when you open it up! :D
