My truck came with 18" rims. Can I run a 17" rim? I know my '06 came with 17" rims and I couldn't run 16" rims cause they rubbed. Just wondering if it's the same situation.

What limits the smaller wheels is the brakes. With that being said, the duallys come with 17" wheels, and those wheels are even more offset. Since the brakes are the same, I'd say it's safe to say a 17" will fit on your SRW.

Ok, thanks. I'm going to have some work done to my 18's and I have a set of 17's I can use. But, they're 5 hours away and I didn't want to go that far if they wouldn't work.

Well don't take what I said for gospel and drop 5 hours without others chiming in... makes sense to me though. :)

I too like less wheel, more tire, and my 2014 2500 came with 18s which I am still running.

Several weeks ago I bought a set of well used/scarred aluminum 6-spoke OEM 17s off CL (from a 2012 I think), two of them had old tires mounted. I test fit the 17s on my front axle and they clear.
