Allright Guys, you finally got me. New Smarty just arrived today. :-laf

I'm forcing myself to wait until I can "gauge" my truck for a good baseline.

My question though is about the "0" setting. The manual states it delivers "half-power" of stock software.

Taken at face value, using this setting would derate a 325hp engine to approx 160, right?

I know that the "1" setting has produced good fuel economy results, but if mileage were the ultimate goal, wouldn't the "0" be better?

Just curious what Marco had in mind for this setting. Smog tests perhaps?

Thanks to all of you. Your input was the primary factor for choosing Smarty.

I believe the intent of level 0 was: valet / irresponsible friends & emmissions test & 0 may get better mileage, but who cares... 160hp would stink!!!!!

The 0 setting is intended for guys with 250hp-up injectors & multiple boxes that want there truck to be streetable & tow a trailer. It will take a 600hp truck & turn the fuel down to half. It doesn't give better mileage on a stock truck because you are in the throttle alot more trying to get moving. The sw1 setting is made for better mileage, but I run sw2 & picked up 2mpg.

I'm running #7, the 130 with timing :) I know, stock clutch, but holding so far! Before my Smarty my overhead read 14-14. 5 mpg, now it reads 16. 5-17 mpg. I still need to do it by hand but if that's true, then woohoo!

Thanks for your replies fellas!

Plugged in Smarty and set to "0" today just to see how it reacts. Boost response feels a little softer, and the engine is a little quieter at cruise-2000 rpm/65 mph.

Definitely does not feel like "half power",though. I would expect different results from different engines, mod levels, etc. My truck is currently all stock.

Stock software gets 17mpg mixed driving with 1,000lbs. continuous payload and about 1 hour idling daily. That's with ULSD.

i have mine in my 05 set on sw3 and mild torque management and doing 65-70 i'm getting high 19's on the highway and closer to 60 brings me into the 20's

I ran "0" program for a couple of days. Didn't see a noticeable change in fuel mileage.

The 60 HP setting netted better mileage than the "0" program.
