I just received my '06 Smarty yesterday, and had to try it out when I got home from work. Since my stock clutch is already in need of being replaced, I just loaded up the #5 program, and turned the TST off. After putting around awhile to warm up, I made about 6 runs up a 3/4 mile long hill nearby. Wow! This is the smoothest power I've felt from the truck yet! The power comes on smooth, and pulls smooth all the way through. The "powerband" feel when the SPS66 lights is not as pronounced due to the additional low-end grunt, but accelerates much smoother throughout the rpm range.

Here's the question... does the SMARTY affect the way the G56 shifts? I can't imagine a correlation here, but there definately seems to be a smoother feel to the transmission as well. I've never taken the truck to the track, and really don't consider myself to be an expert shifter, but I made several runs in a row from rolling start to 90mph, and boost never dropped below 20 psi between shifts! :--) One run hit just right, and boost never went below 25 psi! Before SMARTY, the boost gauge always quickly fell to zero between notchy shifts, and resulted in very uneven acceleration due to constant lagging, lighting, lagging, lighting of the turbo.

As soon as money affords for a Southbend DD, I can't wait to take it to the track just once and see what it'll do! Way to go Marco... :)
