One thing is for certain, Bob doesn't make the thing. I can only imagine the frustration that goes with that.

And you're right, guys like Dan have completely turned around the perception of FASS. I think the same opportunity exsists here. Straighforward, timely and honest answers are the best policies.

I am still hopeful it can get turned around. In the meantime, I am running an EZ/ TST stack and could not be happier.

Well, after many months of fighting for a fix for the Smarty, I have sold it off.

It was the last thing I wanted to do, but in the end it was the best move for me. I have a 100% better driving truck now. I do miss some of the low end grunt, but I do not miss the smoke or driveability issus at all.

If the MADS guys get back to the 2nd gens, I will consider purchasing one at that time. Until then, I am kicking myself for not selling this 6 months ago.

Best of luck to all those that continue to support the product. I hope it all works out for you.

For me, I am on to something else. And even if I have to go to an Edge product with the known reliability issues, I will know what I am paying for.

Thanks again everyone for your input.

Just my experience:

I've been running the ATS Commander and keep mine locking in around 22-24 mph for a couple of years now, that and using the Smarty (power 7 most always) there is no falling on it's face in any gear, and shifts are nice and firm 1-2-3 and 3-4. Trans has been working flawless since Triple Locked 30,000 miles ago.

I'm running 285's and with the odometer correction for height and have been averaging 20-22 mpg over the last year since the VP-44 has been replaced.

The issues for me were not only lockup speed, but surging, falling on it's face and touchy throttle.

I didnt have the falling flat issue until I went to larger injectors. The twins made it even more pronounced for me. There is no way I could use cruise on any level over 3. Even then it ran up and down pretty bad.

With the current setup, Smarty on 3, TST on zero (Off) I would see swings of 15+ psi at 65mph on flat level ground to slight inclines. Moderate inclines helped some, but still swung boost 10 psi. Steep inclines required shutting off the cruise altogether.

So, all these trucks respond different based on mods. To me, what's the point of an expensive downloader if you have to buy other products to make it work in your vehicle. I understand it works great for you. That's fantastic! I wish I could say the same.

I now have all the patience in the world for changes. I have completely fixed my driveability issues and did not give up 1 HP to do it. Besides, I broke even selling the old stuff and buying the new.

I was thinking of different injectors just for a little more, but I may leave it alone since it is running so well.

Having too much power is like too much money unless the negative side effects overrule.
