With the price of diesel out of sight most of us try and save fuel.

I use SMARTY for power and hopefully a mileage increase. I run on 3.

What has anybody else found to be the best setting?

I tow a 13,000 lb 5th wheel and try and hold between 55 & 58 mph.

Saw a bunch of dyno #s on the smarty once. The settings made little difference. I imagine the fuel saver mode is the best. but you should not towin that mode due to excesive timing. Ive towed on 9 and have been on 5 for ages. Made no difference in my mileage.

I've tried every combination of Smarty alone including fuel saver and saw no real change. 1, 3, 5, 9... ... ..... same mileage, the higher the number the better the throttle response. Added a Drag Comp... ... ... ..... ran Smarty on 2, 4, 6, 8 and played with the Comp settings... ... ... ... . again, no change even on Smarty 2, Comp 1. Pretty reliable power in these trucks and pretty reliable mileage, doesn't vary much at all no matter how I drive it. YMMV :D

For towing I prefer SW3, any higher numbers surge with cruise control. Empty highway driving I prefer SW1 but I can't say I see any improvemnet in mileage over SW3.

I dynoed SW1 and SW9 the same day and there was about 2HP difference between the 2!

I leave mine on level 3 all the time, even when towing a trailer. I'm just wondering what my fuel mileage will go up to now with the 275's in.
