the thing is before the update i run the aft. inj stock turbo sw#5 to cut the soot. . after the update i loaded the stock stock program on sw#5 and i was expecting some soot back but it felt like it was still on the aft. inj. stock turbo and no soot ( not even a haze) ... so i thought it was really wierd. . now i tried the sw# 3 and 60hp +timing and drove a bit and the black soot is back so i switched back to sw#5 and drove a bit and black smoke and low end power is back :) maybe its a computer thing (who knows)... just needs a little fiddling around. . i aint complaining just giving some inputs... :) smarty rocks!

TCuencia and Sid do your trucks pull as hard as they did with the 309 software? Just curious, if they do I will install 310, other than to back-off the occassional tailgater I don't care for all the smoke.

As for timeing I am starting to think a stand-alone, adjustable timeing box is the only way to make sure everyone can hit a sweet spot with the varied setups we all run. Currently I run the 309 softwares w/no timeing and get the timeing from TST(old style non-adjustable). TST timeing seems to fall right between the 309 stock and 309 aftermarket injector timeings, and for my truck that seems to be the best compromise between rattle and egt.

Marco must pull his hair out trying to give us all what we all want!!:-laf

You know, now that you mentioned it. I've noticed no matter how hard I accelerate all the smoke is gone. I never had a lot of smoke to begin with, but I would get some when I went WOT. There is none now. Odd?

Sid

See post 481 on this thread... . maybe try to return to stock and then reload the level x... . or just do another reload... . between the fact that this worked for post 481 and the fact that the load process was diff... . could definately just be a fun and exciting software thing.

RMalone, I am with you, the 309 software is working great(after market turbo stock injector) TST nonadjustable timing. EZ 2 , This is so good, I will not download the new program(you can not go back) until... . :-laf

I wish I had stayed with my past SW version. Other than the timing the power feels the same. I think the timing tables just need to be tweaked. The timing feels straight stock with no advance. I'm not to worried Marco always makes it right. If I could just have the timing from the previous version I'd be happy. I may try to reload my truck again. It did upload differently this time.

I got onto the freeway about an hour ago and kept an eye on my gauges. I reached about 25 psi of boost, at about 65-68mph before I left off the throttle and my egt's hit a tad over 1300. My egt's have never been that high before. That really surprised the hell out of me. Same scenario, prior SW version, I'd maybe hit 1050 on the egt's.

Hopefully Marco takes a look at the timing.

Sid

I haven't switched to the latest 03/2007 update yet after hearing about the latest apparent timing revisions.

I was running on the 12/2006 Wild program for aftermarket injectors and turbo and didn't like it too much. The throttle was way too touchy, but it still felt flat off-idle to mid range.

So after I installed the Flux 2 injectors I switched to the 12/2006 Moderate stock injector/aftermarket turbo program to see if the timing rattle was still an issue aftermarket injectors. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I can now run with the stock injector timing program with TST up to 6* timing with just a hint of rattle and the low end is way better than the Wild aftermarket injector! Previously I could only run the non-timing programs with a TST.

I noticed on the Mads website that the recent update is for 2004-2005. Since 2004 was still 305/555 will this update affect the 2003 305/555?

Was anything other than DC flash updates done to the latest revision?

I just don't want to try the new software without finding out more details and then not being able to go back to an earlier version with which I am very happy.

Ok, I have a new software for anyone that has experienced higher egt's with the new update.

Please email me if you want the new software.

EDIT... I need to know if you have an S04 or S06 smarty if you request the software

Thank you

This is a shot in the dark. Is there any way, with the Smarty, to make the factory oil pressure gauge to read the actual oil pressure? I have read here on TDR that it's not the actual oil pressure and reads something with oil temp and pressure to give you a dash gauge reading.

No the oil pressure switch is just that a 6lb switch the computer only shows you what it thinks you want to see if pressure goes below 6 psi then it turns on the check gauge light and sets the oil pressure gauge to o psi. if you want to see actual oil pressure you will have to install a after market gauge

Bob, I understand that. What I am asking is, I downloaded software "309D 205B" into my Smarty, then when I connect to my truck, it identifies itself as "309B 205B" ?

Just curious, Jess

Jess. was your truck returned back to stock before the update?

I am working on this .

Bob, NO!

If in fact I have the program "309B 205B" in my Smarty by some fluke, what is it? When was it offered? I erased all of my old softwares off my computer, but I do not remember ever having this one.

It is working surprising well, especially with my TST. I am not complaining, just want to know what I actually have on board.

Jess

Well Bob,

That was the ticket. Slight smoke has returned and my egt's are back where they were.

Thanks

Oh, and thanks Marco.

Bob, email is on the way.

Is anyone else having surging with the moderate program on levels 5-9 with the cruise on? Mainly when going up small hills, or in straight aways with strong headwing, my truck feels like it is accelerating then slowing down very rapidly. I am planning on playing with the stock torque program tomorrow.

Jerry

Bob / Marco... are you going to put the new file in the download section? or email request only?

Marco is away on holiday until next tuesday. Alll the softwares will be republished but it will take some time.

That is why the mild tq program is all I have for now.

The P0602 code is eliminated for the 06 and 07 trucks in the new software release

You asked for it and Marco delivered :)
