First of all, Chrysler has released new softwares for all CR's.

They're now incorporated in all three update versions.

Update # 1. Stock torque management. Sez it all ? :D

Update # 2. Less aggressive throttle response. Less smoke. Better AT transmission shifting. More stick transmission shifting friendly. In all I'd say a good daily driver.

Update # 3. Is not exactly like the original software that came with your Smarty but is very close to it. All files for manual trucks have a slightly less aggressive TQM. A few bugs are fixed. I've tried to address the early shifting issues for the AT's. My favorite...

Should you NOT like the updated #3 you can have the original version anytime.

Helps?

Marco

What about a little more top end? It's great from the bottom, but starts to fall off toward the 2600 RPM range and done at red line. 04 305/555 engine.

How do we go about getting the original if we decide we liked it better? Are you going to be putting it on the website?

Thanks Marco,

I am looking for the software that will provide the theoretical 'best' economy.

Does the modified TM decrease the amount of low boost fueling and theoretically increase the milage at low RPMs?

Thanks.

I have run the stock TM on level #3 and the throttle response is similar to stock but when you put your foot in it she takes off.

I will be using the middle TM setting with #3 tonight after work.

I downloaded the #2 up date and set my truck on SW-3. All I can say is its Perfect. :D :D The go pedal is every manageable and is super easy to row through the gears with out slipping the clutch or revving the engine before the clutch is engaged. I think my wife will be able to drive my truck again. Only smokes when you drop the hammer hard. :-laf Thanks Marco you are the man.

Smarty software 202B with a Edge EZ pressure box

I downloaded the Smarty version -202B "mild TM" and tried level 2. I was impressed - the smoke is more controllable and the power was nice. The devil in me told me to go ahead and try level 9 since I have a 2004. 5 with a built transmission and the air to burn the fuel. Oh boy, it's fun now. I left the Hot Juice/Attitude set to stock, but I didn't disconect my Edge EZ pressure box. With the EZ in cab switch set at the lowest and the Smarty on level 9 it's sure impressive and will break the tires in second and third doing a fairly hard take off. But wait I couldn't stand it and flipped the Edge EZ to the third position and tried the same take off. WOW - This thing is awesome now. I haven't tried the top end yet so some more testing on a more open road is in order. Just thought I would let you know. Oo. Bill

Send Bob an email or PM about this... He mentioned on the phone that people could get the original software from him...

Marco: What did Chrysler update in the software for the CRs (if you can specify)?

Thanks!!

I too would like to know more about the new Chrysler sws. Don't want to chance messing up my Smarty.

I noticed on MADS website new software as of 09/26/06. What's different from the update that was just released on 09/18/06?

Sid

When my truck was new i had the TSB 18-037-04 done on my truck " white smoke on cold starts fix" and it worked great, it also fixed the overhead,

But now after loading my smarty and returning to stock i've got the white smoke again BAD and very rough idle when it's cold,

can this TSB be included in the stock programing ???

Marco,

I have loaded the latest Smarty S-04A Ver. 3. 06B, Data: 3. 02B and it seems less smoke and better driveability on SW 4 so far. I need to get to the track and see what it does. If I don't get the same track results how can I get the original Smarty S-04A Ver. 3. 03B, Data: 1. 01B that was on the Smarty when I got it?????

One more thing, the ABS update is questionable at best on mine. It did not read the correct setting that was programmed and did not seem to change to the new setting I entered. I had the dealer reprogram mine Friday after switching from 315s to 285s, the Smarty did not seem to work even though it said it did the update.

Bob/Marco,

One suggestion..... It would be nice to have either a downloadable document, or a place on the website that outlines the changes, fixes, etc. of each subsequent version of the software that gets posted on the website for download. These "release notes" would be really helpful for people to be able to quickly read about the changes made to the new versions and decide whether they need to update or not.

I second that nomination!

RDusch,

I don't know what problem your truck has. One thing is for sure, Smarty HAS all the TSB's that have ever been released on board! The 18-037-04 and ALL the others!

Let's expand on rough running. Do you see that in the stock setting only or on all the different softwares? The reason I ask is simple. The stock setting is simply like the perfromance softwares but without ANY modification done.

JVolpe,

To answer your question about the 3. 01 Data 1. 01(!). DC has released new softwares for the trucks. The 1. 01 is based upon the previous software versions. I need to apply the "1. 01" modifications to the new softwares in order to make them work again on all trucks. I'll do it this week. Should you need that version shoot me PM or contact Bob...

About your Speedo problem. Yes I've seen that happen to the VP truck's also a few times ( The ABS is basically the same since '96 they went with a different unit only in '06. . ) What happens is that the ABS does not always "take" the new programming. When asked it answeres with the setting one has programmed into it but it does not change the speedo. Normally another programming takes care of that...

JK,

I hear you loud and clear. That one is already on the to do list. As soon as time permits... .

Thanks,

Marco
