but remember you have to uninstall the bullydog USB driver you have on your computer first to get the Smarty USB driver to work. For some reason the drivers interfere with each other.

Does the Smarty programs manipulate the timing dynamically like the stock ECM (but obviously more aggressive) or does the Smarty add timing a set, static amount through the entire rpm and boost range?



I just installed my adjustable program TST so I want to get some insight as to which way I need to go on the TST settings.

Is there anyway to change the abs settings without having the smarty vin locked? I put the smarty back to stock in order to get a handle on the high copper and lead in my oil. But now my oddometer is off.

Yes, of course.

Nope, sorry... When Smarty is set back to stock then also the ABS is returned to the settings it had in it when Smarty was installed.

marco i know you've heard this enough but i love this product. all i can say is wow. my truck even sounds like a diesel should now. all that quiet stuff was killing me. i've got just the right amount of timing rattle on sw 9 to make the truck sound like a diesel again.

Marco/ Bob by some chance I no longer have factory high idle. I have my truck on Sw3 and the out side temp was 35* this morning. I ran the truck for 10 min to warm it up, and it was still at 750 RPM. It use too Idle up to 1000 RPM when it's cold out. Does the Smarty no long have the Factory High Idle? My truck in an 2003 6 speed.

While the cold high idle on the VP trucks had to be enabled thru the software to work ( Smarty for the VP trucks enables it). The CR softwares already come with the cold high idle enabled. I don't change anything in the high idle other than enabling the manual high idle ( through CC ). I don't see any reason for which the cold high idle should not work with Smarty. What we have seen often with the VP trucks is that off IAT sensors, off ECT sensors do mess up things with the cold high idle.

I know that you responded with my question about the ABS tire size change previously and said the Smarty did not change stock setting when put back to stock.



This is a sequence of events that occured and the result. I sort of understand why, but it does mean that I will have to pay the dealer to program my ABS for a tire size change a second time.



My truck was programmed by the dealer for my BFG 315s, ABS RPM set to 605 before any Smarty load.



Loaded the Smarty a few times and returned to stock.



Change tires to BFG 285. Loaded the Smarty and attempted to change tire size. Don't think the ABS setting really changed, but it did read the ABS setting from ECM(605).



I unloaded the Smarty and went to the dealer and had the ABS RPM set to 636 for the BFG 285s. I wanted the tire size correct with or without the Smarty loaded. The change was correct confirmed by rpm/mph and distance.



Loaded the Smarty and things were still correct for the tire size based on rpm/mph.



Unloaded the Smarty and the original setting for BFG 315s was put back in ABS RPM(605).



This seems to be a sequence of loads and ABS reading that set the stock size to 605 and since I did not do a ABS read before returning to stock after the ABS RPM change.



Now I will put back to stock and have the dealer reprogram for the 285s. I will then load the Smarty and do a ABS read and hopefully that will note the correct ABS RPM value and reset it that way when I go back to stock.



This is just a heads up and I think can be recreated with the same sequence of events.

A friend of mine who has a 2003 Auto trans truck loaded a SMARTY CR that another friend of mine owns, but the Manual High Idle did not work... version 3. 07b... Any ideas?



Do you need to have the manual high idle enabled from the dealer 1st, or should SMARTY CR do it?



When you unload SMARTY CR, would the manual high idle remain working or not?

How are you reading revs per mile? My Smarty will only tell tire size. When it took my settings back to stock to upload a Smarty update ( and after setting the tire size and verifying speeds with a buddy's GPS), it stated that the tire size is 31. 75" when I reloaded the new version. I was kind of annoyed.



This time I measured my tire height and programmed 33. 25", but I can only hope it's correct. I did not note the setting when I had the GPS to verify speed. I don't have a GPS to verify speed.



I'd much rather be able to play with revs per mile.



One other thing I noticed, but probably not related to the Smarty- If I have the speedo dead-on at 70mph, it will still read 2-3mph high at 35. Weird.

possibly because it assumes that it is the height you put in (33") but if you measure your static load height it will probably be quite a bit lower than that, and your tire pressure will also change the SLH.

I found thes best setting for my BFG 315's to be 33. 55". Not sure what size tires you are running.
