How are you reading revs per mile? My Smarty will only tell tire size. When it took my settings back to stock to upload a Smarty update ( and after setting the tire size and verifying speeds with a buddy's GPS), it stated that the tire size is 31. 75" when I reloaded the new version. I was kind of annoyed.

This time I measured my tire height and programmed 33. 25", but I can only hope it's correct. I did not note the setting when I had the GPS to verify speed. I don't have a GPS to verify speed.

I'd much rather be able to play with revs per mile.

One other thing I noticed, but probably not related to the Smarty- If I have the speedo dead-on at 70mph, it will still read 2-3mph high at 35. Weird.

The ABS RPM 605 or 636 were the entries made with and read on the DRBIII tool. The Smarty does seem to convert the RPM to nn. nn inches for displaying and for entering. I am assuming the formula for converting inches into RPM is in the Smarty software. The Dodge Power Wagon 285 tire on the BFG site says 32. 70 inches in diameter. That is what I put into the Smarty. The Dealer used the 636 revpermile number off of the same spec sheet.

I have been running the Smt3EV303D302B program sence 9/24/06 with great results.

Is there any reason to go to the latest down load?

Marco,

Is there a way to get, or do you plan on doing, a Moderate version with the reduced timing? I think you mentioned before that the beta version some of us are running is based off the Mild TM. I want the kick that the Moderate offers (similar to what it came loaded with) yet with the timing reduced so we can use the TST.

BTW... this beta version is working flawlessly for me, either by it self or with the TST.

Matt,
I should be able to publish the multiple updates tomorrow. Among them what you're asking for. I've not forgotten... .

I loaded my Smarty on Sat. It only took about 5 mins. So far I have only used #3 (60 hp with timing). What a difference. Much more responsive off idle and at mid range. The high idle enable is an extra bonu!s.

I couldn't be happier.

hey marco can you explain this a little "For all years: implemented new "anti-rattle" timing for non-stock injectors" what is the benefit to timing rattle vs. no timing rattle.

i was wondering that myself.

I was glancing over this post, and was just wondering what the most powerful stack is that's out for our trucks? Have any been making great power and prooven dependable? My dually has been at the same time for a long time now. 13. 4's at 101-102 mph with a 2. 0 60'. I run the crazy larry program with TM on. I thought I'd heard that stacking with the crazy larry had caused problems. . Is this true?

I think it has more to do with the bigger injectors bringing the fuel into the cylinder faster/earlier causing a slight timing knock. To my understanding, with the update for bigger injectors, it quiets it down.

I think the only problem I am aware of when stacked with a TST that does NOT have user adj timing. If both the TST and CLDL are run at manufacturer timing then it's too high and some guys get the dreaded POP and some get anywhere from light to loud obnoxious inj rattle. The adj TST will fix the prob. It did on mine and I had all of the above for six months or so. My $. 02.

Just d/l the new Moderate w/reduced timing software. Already took her out for a little test drive. It's perfect. Loaded SW5 w/my TST on 3/1 and she's a rocket. Exactly what I was looking for. Heck of a lot of power instantlyk, in cab adjustability with the TST and no timing rattle... . Marco, you're the man! Thanks for all your hard work and putting up with our wild requests.

I've been running my Smarty on sw3 with stock injectors and have had a little timing/injector rattle, not sure which, but not enough to be concerned. I just D/L’d the new version and reloaded with sw3. I must say, even w/stock injectors, I noticed my engine runs/idles more smoothly and what little rattle I did have is gone. I'm assuming the new software version has reduced timing? Will the reduced timing increase egt’s or effect mileage? Other than that, I like it, thanks to Marco once again.

Can I run the newest update even though I have stock injectors? Will I damage anything? Just like to be sure before I download. Thanks

Well sid325 just answered part of my question!

JJoiner,

Were fine, I called and spoke to Bob, I had same concern. Bob said new version w/stock injectors is fine, no problem. He recommended to stay current with each update, I have always, no regrets.

Marco or Bob,

Just upgraded from smt3e306_502 to smt3e309d204. Does this new software address the shifting of the 48RE? My trans will shift out of 1st at 9 mph into 2nd and 2nd only stays in till 14 mph or so then to third. I have no way to adjust throttle valve on this 05 trans as the 05 has electronic force motor. I wish there were a way to hold the 1 and 2nd gear shifts out a little bit longer maybe 1st to 15mph and 2nd to 20 mph or so.

thanks,

Jason

Well Bob and Marco, I went for a test drive with the new software and it seems that something has been done with transmission line pressure. It seems to be more line pressure when shifting from 1 to 2 to 3.

Waiting for Marco to chime in.
