Smarty Jr. as a Code Reader

I was under the impression that the Smarties were a code reader for any OBDII vehicles but I think that is not the case when I tried to read codes from my 2005 Town and Country. It kept telling me to turn the key on and off. Next I tried my 02 Jetta and got the same thing. Put it on my truck and it worked fine. I did some searching but did not find much about it. Tried to call Bob W. but he is on vacation.



So we can only read codes for Diesel Rams for the models years the Smarty was desinged for?
