Love to have my truck back
I would love to have my truck back. I will, soon. Right now it is in the body shop to have the damage it received on the evening on June 21st repaired. That evening as my wife and I headed for the basement, my truck, my Gulfstream Travel Trailer, my house, and many of my neighbors were hit by an EF2 tornado which did an estimated $20 million in cumulative damages. Fortunately no one suffered any severe injuries, only minor. Although several houses were totally destroyed or received so much damage that they would have to be torn down, my house fared better. Shingles were missing from the roof and sections of the roof were damaged so the house has been re-roofed. The aluminum siding has been damaged, bent, etc so it will have to be replaced. But otherwise no major damage to the house. However every tree in my previous very shady lawn is gone. We still haven't finished cleaning up the mess.
My truck had a black walnut tree fall on it. The tree left the cab roof caved in about 5 inches and popped the cap off the bed. It also smashed the driver side rear view mirror. Other than that, although it took 3 hours to chain saw in far enough to open a door and back the truck out from under the branches which crossed the hood and went down both sides of the truck, there was no other major damage. However there were scratches, dings, scuff marks, etc to every body panel except the front and rear bumpers. The estimate was close to $10,000. 00 plus $1,300. 00 to replace the cap. The Trailer was also under the black walnut, but was also spared major damage, but covered with marks from being hit by flying roof shingles and other debris
I'll be very happy to get my truck back, the insurance rental sedan just isn't as comfortable.
