By the amount of reported problems, not true. As the OP has found out, once you pop it the problem persists. Not as many as there was a couple years ago because there are fixes, but, head studs will not stop the problem like it did on the 5. 9's.

There is a pretty big list building on H&S facebook post on all the 6. 7 hg failures both with and w/out studs

I got the truck back today and switched back to the edge and have it on the tow setting with the timing on factory default. Went for a drive and it's nice to see the boost back down at the 15 psi instead of the 26-30 psi range while loaded with Egt's in the 900-1040 degree range which is just fine for these motors to cruise at.

The stealership messed up my ARP stud which only had 23,000 Kms or them and tried to charge me $600. 00 for new ones,ARP's!! The other ones didn't need to be replaced as far as I'm concerned and would of had the stress stretching done and therefore would not have needed to be retorqued later. So I got them down to $200. 00 for them and had them include retorqueing them next week after I do my 600km round trip loaded going camping.

No surprises there. The potential for problems with the 6. 7 was forecasted before it went into full production. At least in stock form it has proven to be a good engine, just not as friendly or easily adapted to uprated power as the 5. 9.
