On the Smarty Jr. POD when they say 00-99 levels. Does that mean if running level 3, 100 Hp tune, that if I use number 50 it's only putting out 50 Hp Extra. 270 hp rear wheel stock + 50 Hp = 220 Hp rear wheel.

Or does it mean stock = 270 hp rear wheel + 100 Hp from smarty = 370 hp and then 50 % reduction from that = 185 Hp.

Yes TDR really seems to be dying. Let me guess, you posted on CumminsForum? It is my understanding that if you are on level 3, 100hp, and you put in 50%, you are getting 50% of that power, over stock. If you put in 70%, you are getting 70% of that power, over stock.

It is definately not the second example you posted.

Actually it is the second example he posted...

The answer I got was 50 = 50% if total Hp.

After 9 years I don't believe I'll be renewing my subscription. My subscription ends soon. The last few years was more for the magazine and a few questions here and there on the website. Magazine even doesn't have much for the CR any more and most my questions don't get answered anyhow.

I don't think it's that simple. It may work as a rough estimate, but it's not designed like that. It does cut back a percentage of total horsepower, but I don't think it's linear. Marco replied something to the effect that the "power" available is different in each gear as well... such that a low % number on the PoD may offer 40 hp in 1st gear, 54 in 2nd gear, etc up to maybe 120 hp in 6th to maximize fuel economy gains.

... and cut me a little slack for the slow response. I just got back from my grandmother's funeral out of state. Otherwise, I'd probably have answered within 3 minutes! :-laf

While it might not be perfect I think its going to be pretty close. One will be able to tell with boost and EGT's to see.

It's up on the website... MADS Electronics - Smarty - CaTCHER - Download

Bob/Marco sent me the software to test last week and its great. I have been driving around on SW2, TM3, TQ4, and PoD 40 and love the way the truck drives. (doing the rough math that's 140hp to the ground) I have all the power I need for everyday driving, yet by watching the boost gauge there aren't power spikes, by me or CC, and that tells me I will be getting better mileage...
