So what is "Default" then? (Besides the definition of "default" . . . ) Why are there two "default" settings for injection timing? (Maybe we do need to fo over the aforementioned definition . . . ) What is "Smarty Standard" compared to "default"? Does the "Default" setting change if you change hp levels? Although I have never heard anything bad about the product, the instructions seem to be lacking guys . . .

May I suggest a graphic of some sort - something that shows the relative severity of the different settings? Something like:

Torque Management: <--More Less-->

Stock#1---------->#0----#4-->#3-->#2

You don't need to give away the secret to your baked beans, but the dashes can represent a relative measure of the differences between the settings.

Timing
Advanced to Retarded
4,2,3,1 (0=2)

Tq Managment
Wildest to Mildest
2,3,4,1 (0=2)

Both of those images linked say the same thing in different words. For timing 4 is the original, 3 is beta 3, 2 is beta 4, 1 is stock, or very close to on all of those.

AH64 - While I agree with your assumptions of the order of the settings (as that is what I guessed also), the instructions do not actually say that. And they do not say the same thing.

Both sets do agree on Torque Management, but do not specifically say "default" = "mild" (0=2).

For timing, in addition to being unclear what default is, Marco's say #4 is more advanced than #2 while Bob's say #4 is more advanced than #1.

I realize someone is going to say "well, you can figure it out". I maintain that instructions should be explicit, and not something you have to decipher. That being said, the reason I replied was in hopes of Bob or Marco providing insight so there is no question as to the settings.

I hate to admit, but I feel the same way as HL. I asked Bob for instructions and he gave them. I was a little confused when I read them but what I think we need is a better definition of how this affects the trucks. Not asking for trade secrets here.

I think we get used to the order of numbers. 0 would seem like a stock setting and as the numbers go up, the wilder things get... like w/ the SW levels. I guess we are to think that the order is timing related? I for one do not know if the trucks are advanced or retarded for smog reasons. Don't get me wrong, we asked and received, some of us just don't understand how to use it.

We write many specs at my place of work and we pass work instructions off to others not in our area to see if they can be understand and execute the procedures as sometimes we write them the way we understand them and it can make perfectly good sense to us but sometimes others don't understand it.

So 4 is most advanced but 3 is less advanced than 2? Maybe the Smarty guys get this but myself as a Jr. guy, I am struggling.

More advanced, more power ?

Torque management? This means how responsive the power is? At first I thought it had something to do w/ the Torque converter and lock up. It does not? For as many gas engines I have built, I kind of feel like Cole Trickle in Days of Thunder. . "They put me in a car and I could drive. . I am an idiot when it comes to the vocabulary"

I feel like I am trying to learn Algebra again when I see strange order of numbers and 0=2 ;)

Thanks AH for trying to help us out.

Again. . not that big of a deal, This is a great product with great support and a lot of undedrstanding developers and vendor (Thanks Bob!), just want to understand it before I use it.

Bob is on vacation BTW.

Just updated my ECM today with the new REVO update, but not much driving with it yet.
I'm interested to see what other think as well, and what settings they're using with the new adjustable options.

Please start off with the default settings. The if you need any smoke control try a lower tq setting (stock)

The Revo settings are all for smoke control to cover all the different truck configurations.

Thanks
