just bought a smarty jr from a friend and when i was looking at the options now im  i have a stock 2005 dodge 2500 auto so my qustion is what do i put the TOQUE MANAGMENT AND INJECTION TIMING ON. im looking for better fuel mileage . Any help would be appreciated

Just to add some more info I am also running a Rokktech along with full advance timing and I can't get it to rattle. Let us know how it comes out and remember do it the old fashion way for mileage check top off the tank

TM4 will net the most mileage, but also the most smoke.

TM2 is the best compromise between smoke/mpgs.

Another Smarty Jr question

I just purchased a brand new Smarty Jr. Since its brand new, are the programs already loaded or do I need to go through the download, unzip, upload to Smarty and them install in vehicle. If such is the case, my land line isn't going to cut it.

As well, AH64ID, I would have thought that smoke is an indicator of wasted fuel, so max fuel economy shouldn't have any smoke. What am i missing? I'm in the same quandry as above. I purchased the Jr based on very high praise from this site, with the intention of maximizing efficiency empty and while pulling my 9K 5th, without busting anything. So I'll be searching for the best settings as well.

Regards, John

Smoke is wasted MPG's, around town I see no increase on TM4 as the smoke and increase in efficiency (post smoke) cancel each other out. But on the hwy cruising empty there are no smoke issues, so the increase in efficiency is noticeable.

When you plug it in it will tell you the SW version. 5. 10B is the latest and greatest. The download is a 4mb file, so even on dial up it wont be THAT bad...

For your use I would try SW1, TM Default and TQ Default. SW2 may work too, but be careful on a stock auto.

Thanks AH64ID. I'll try your suggestion.

So I take it that if I plug the Smarty into my truck and it says SW version 5. 10B, I'm good to go and don't need to connect to the computer and download anything. I like that idea as it seems some problems are experienced in trying to download SW especially for non-computer guys like me.

Regards, John

Downloading the new programs isn't that bad as I even figured it out. I watched a couple other people do it first though. You will love the Jr. The best mod on my truck.
