Smarty-MPGs

I'm pretty sure I've seen on here that the Smarty can increase MPGs.



Before Smarty: my average daily driving to work (18miles) and back home (18 miles) was 16. 8 mpg in mixed highway, traffic and some stop-go. (no hot-rodding, just trying to eekk out the best mpg's)



After Smarty: Level 1 (stock turbo, stock injectors, mild torque management), I've seen it increase to 17. 5 mpg on exact same route with even more traffic. (same driving technique, no hot-rodding, just trying to get the best mpg's)



Anyone know why? Does this seem reasonable or just other factors?

I got also most 2 mpg improvment highway driving at 65-70. Same set-up.

I don't really know why, but my assumption is that the unit advances the fuel timing. This will increase the efficiency of the engine, resulting in both more power and better fuel mileage. Yes, it sounds reasonable to me.

I keep mine on level 9 all of the time. I average 20 mpg running 75. Had a trip to Denton last Friday. 595 miles with pretty strong winds--19. 4 mpg. Timing advance it what gives you the jump in mileage.

Last fillup, I received 19. 2 mpg (normal 12 mile oneway commute).



I'm currently running level 3 on Jr. (Performance setting).



Hopefully, this will be consistent. I will fillup this weekend and see if it remains near that level MPG-wise.

I drive a 92 dodge d250 2wd and get about 25 mpg mixed highway and city. Only thing thats on my truck is the Banks larger exaughst and turned up fuel pump so I dont Know.
