I just recently was able to update my SMARTY programmer with the latest software and my truck as well. The new programming is great, or so I thought, all the problems I experienced were gone, mainely turbo boost would fall 10 lbs or more when truck shifted into overdrive, anyway it's gone and truck runs like a raped ape. Now for the bad, the truck now threw the code 1698 (I think) basically no communication between the ECM and the TCM. The truck shifts fine and runs fine but all the gauges die, it starts chiming and beeping (low fuel level warning) brake light on, check eng light, ABS light on and every gauge dead. It has come back from the dead at times, mainly when I slow below 30 MPH. The gauge cluster will work fine for one or two days then back to the dying routine. I put the truck back to stock program thinking I was going to end up at a dealer for help, but It stopped acting up since then. I have continued to run the truck with my Quadzilla chip on and still no problems. Has anyone else had similar problems with the new SMARTY software and if so did you find a fix, bad sensor etc... . Has anyone had this problem unrelated to the SMARTY programmer? This is one of those nightmare problems, it could be anything from a loose wire, bad ECM, bad TCM, bad connection, you name it and it could be the colprit. Help... :{
