Smarty question

Hey do you guys think that Marco will ever make some sort of product for the smarty that will make it adjustable on the fly. that is the only problem I have with the smarty I hate taking so much time to download a new tune. I wish they had something like the attitude or the banks PDA to make shifting on the fly possible. Think I am just dreaming or do you think it can be a reality?

If it did it would not be a Smarty. It changes the program in the ECM. It does not work like other boxes that intercept the signals and "fool" the ECM.

OK but doesnt the bullydog downloader have this feature? You can leave it plugged in and change on the fly...

That used to be one of my favorite complaints (switch on the fly) .



I am so damn pleased with the 411 software, I no longer have a desire to change, everyday it seems/appears to get stronger, in /on my truck.

I enjoy the new software as well, but it would still be nice to cruise around at the 60 HP setting and then if needed jump to the 130 or 170 setting

Just set it at the highest you want and use your right foot to adjust the power...



But no, it would take wiring harnesses and other junk... which I dont want.

Smarty Adjustability

I took out my Edge in December after it was throwing injector codes and shutting down the truck which had started happening back in July. I sent in everything to Edge and they reprogrammed and tested everything. Edge does have great customer service.



I just got my Smarty last Friday and was really concerned with not having the adjustability that the Edge gave me. I've been driving for a week now on the 60 HP setting with the moderate torque program and man what a difference this thing is. I no longer am throwing P1740 codes which are for the torque converter and my truck shifts and runs awesome. I'm putting my new gauges in this weekend that are replacing the attitude monitor and then I'll crank up the Smarty. On 60 HP my truck rips so I can't wait to try out the 170 HP setting.



The only complaint I've got with the Smarty so far is that it is a little smoky compaired to the Edge. We've got every officer in our lovely state going after us diesel nuts so I try to minimize any excessive smoke. I'll play around with the settings to see which one smokes the least.



All I can say is the Smarty is a must have. It is an awesome product.

I run one of the older programs, which tends smoke more, I dunno as I haven't ran the new ones, it took some time but I had to learn to drive the truck different, don't lay into the gas below 2k and the smoke is no issue, during the winter time, I don't be much more smoke than stock actually, its just in warmer temps here, it might not be as bad if we where not close to 5k in elevation here too
