has anybody found the best fuel economy setting for the new software. i have a 06 5. 9 6 speed and am going on a trip.

setting 1,3 or 5

torque management ?

timing ?

fuel pressure ?

thanks

i have used setting 3 with timing at 4 and everything else set to stock... i ended up getting around 17mpg while going around 90mph on my way home i slowed down to 73-75 and got 21

I ran mine on 3, rp default,tq mngmt on 2 (mild?) and timing on 4 and noticed a 2-3 mpg gain. It seems that the timing setting makes the difference (on mine anyways)

How was your performance and the smoke on those settings. I have been playing with different combinations. Today, I am running on Level 3 with all defaults.

I havent had any smoke issues (unless I REALLY wanted them:-laf) with the smarty even when towing 12k. A little smoke if cruising in od but nothing to get excited about

I dumped REVO and went back to 4. 11 with mild torque man. Last tank was just over 19 MPG mixed driving on setting 6. Less timing got better MPG. Best I could get with REVO was low 18's with alot of timing rattle. 4. 11 drives alot like my 12v truck and doent smoke much at all if you drive with slight athority.

I am in the same boat. What I'd really like to know is if I choose to go with SW5 in the REVO program how does that relate to the individual settings available in the REVO SW. In other words SW 5 = Torque Management level of what? Timing level is what? Rail Pressure is what? Then I know what to fiddle with. Maybe I am asking too much. I'd love to know where to tow and what setting doesn't smoke.

Also, my previous SW #5 (before the REVO) smokes pretty badly so I pull it off every once in a while just to make sure the truck doesn't smoke on the stock SW. If it does, then I know that I have trouble brewing. Is that a safe assumption?

Thanks guys. I love the TDR! :D

If I understand what you are asking Tmax you set the trq management timing and rail pressure and then it is the same for every program you choose until you change it again or go back to stock

I found it but I don't recall what it is. Smarty is in dad's truck. He's picked up a good 2+mpg. I'll go look as soon as he's around here long enough.

SW#3, don't remember what options.

Sorry for the confusion but my question is a little tough to verbalize. I am wondering this: Let's say I go ahead and select SW #5. Within that setting (SW5) what are the settings of each of the modifyable settings? Within SW5, where is the timing, where is the rail pressure, where is the TM? If I know that, then I can better see the results if I change just the TM setting (while still in SW5). Is my question any clearer?

When you first load Revo, everything will go to the default setting for tq, rail pressure and timing, regardless of which SW you go to. When you find a program you like (for me, it is SW#3) you can then adjust the various settings I mentioned. The default setting for tq management is "mild" which I think is 2 (it spells it out in the download instructions that come with Revo). As you play with the various settings within whichever SW you select, those settings will automatically transfer to anyother SW you pick unless you go back into the options program and change your selections (eg. stock, default, etc)

I'm not sure if I have answered any part of your question. This is my understanding of how Revo works. You have a wide variety of programs and settings within the programs to experiment with.

When you plug the Smarty in you will have 2 selections. Adjust Options and Connect Truck (or something like that). Adjust Options allows you to modify the timing, RP, TM, WG, speed limiter across all the SW's. If you select default it is what ever was defualted to in the SW's. Connect Truck aloows you to adjust ABS and load Catcher tunes.

FYI, I am running timing 2, RP 2, TM 2, and SW3 and averaging 20-21 mpg at 70-75 mpg in normal conditions. Slow it down and it will push 23-24 without a problem.
