Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Smarty software with TSB for extreme cold climates

I've been searching but no luck finding info on what the Smarty software #2 is all about. Description on the website is "Same as version 1 but with the TSB for extreme cold climates and driveablity enhancements for winter fuel ( For automatic trans. trucks only)". In what conditions does this apply?

Bob Wagner just confirmed for me last week in a similar thread that I started that in fact each of Smarty's software settings incorporate the high idle TSB.



If you do a search in this forum using "Smarty and High Idle", you will find it.



That is good news for me since I had the dealer reflash the ECM a few years ago with the high idle TSB and it never "took".

Thanks for the good info - exactly what I was looking for. I'm glad to hear the high idle is in all the programs. I had mine flashed with that update 3 years ago and always liked that feature.



I think the TSB probably does not apply to me. I am curious now though because the TSB indicates "reprogramming the PCM". I always thought that Smarty reprogrammed the ECM and not the PCM. What am I not understanding? Or maybe this is a typo on the TSB?
