Gang,
Here I stand in front of you one more time on my old lil soap box.
Important and difficult work has been done.
We've been through countless sleepless nights in the last year...
I'm working with a partner now; Stefano. He writes softwares for embedded systems for a living. Without him it would've taken much longer to get ready, if at all.
The result?
Smarty.
Ok ok, you want to know what Smarty is and does?
Lookie here:
http://www.madselectronics.com/
To tell you the truth we were not prepared to unveil Smarty, yet.
Since I told Bob to stop with the CaTCHER ECM deal the rumor mill started turning. Before it becomes too wild...
We've build the web site in a hurry in order to show you Smarty. We will improve it later and why not, with your help and suggestions.
Let me explain what Smarty is and what he does.
Smarty is a tool for updating the ECM's in our trucks. Just like the DRB III would do, only Smarty does it faster, better, smarter than the OEM or the competition.
Thus the name " Smarty", he's one smart little dude!
In short, Smarty's most important features.
1) Ten different CaTCHER softwares on board for each truck type.
Yup, 10. From mild to wild, there's one for each taste.
There are 30 different truck types in the years 98. 5-02. That means Smarty has 10X30 = 300 different CaTCHER softwares on board plus 30 stock softwares. In all 330 softwares. MAN getting them together was a though job!
2) A typical download is done in a little less than 2 minutes.
( DRB III = 6-7 minutes ) Also, we have worked hard on the whole flashing process, keys to hit and whatever in order to make an ECM update as fast as possible. Once one get's used to Smarty, it takes 2. 5 minutes from the moment you plug in, update the ECM, unplug. The fastest competition needs at least twice that time.
3) DTC's are displayed as Pxxx AND with their description.
No more guessing or searches on the web what that codes means.
Obvious, the codes can be cleared if you want to.
4) Smarty updates the ABS in a couple seconds. Faster than, you guessed it the DRB or the competition
5) Smarty has build in USB for updates through the web.
New CaTCHER softwares or added features? No longer a problem!
Custom tuning with the nasty quarter mile machine? Can be done... . Oo.
6) Smarty is NOT detectable by the dealer. It leaves NO footprint or alters key on cycles or whatever.
We've done some serious homework here... .
I think you got the picture by now.
Yet, I HAVE to tell you, we are NOT ready for sales yet.
The first beta units have been shipped Friday. The next batch will leave tomorrow Monday 12/19/05. The beta guys should get them straight form Santa! :-laf :-laf
The Situation is as follows.
The first production batch is planned in the second week of 2006. The keyword here is planned! If everything works out as it should, the first production units will be in the States shortly after. The first production batch is "small". I think most of them will be reserved for guys who already own a CaTCHER ECM; they will get a very special deal on Smarty.
At this point I think I can step down from the soap box. I've told you in all honesty how things are today.
Thanks for you attention.
Marco
