Oo. My 99 Ca. truck having a DTT upgraded transmission and smart controller has always set off the CEL. Does this mean that I can throw away the electrical tape finally by ordering the Federal application or whatever? Man what a miracle in many ways this will be! Look out Edge,TST and all the rest!

Seriously though... I envy the 3rd Gens ability to stack all kinds of boxes on each other and get big numbers so I'm glad folks are still looking out for the 2nd Gen crowd. I'm sure it won't be long for you guys.

The website seems to answer quite a few questions and I am sure they'll answer more in time.



I did see that it will allow reprogramming tire size. I need that one. And if it boost fools like the standard Catcher, that'll be cool too. I am sure it will.



I just got my ECM back and I'll see Bob Wagner tomorrow. I'm gonna make him let me hold it and I am sure I'll ask a great deal of questions myself!



The coolest thing is, it's USB upgradeable. That means that we can get programming updates via the web. So, hypothetically, you could test many, many programs on the dyno if you had an internet connection available. How cool is that?



We'll be able to dial in any setup out there. Any combo of boxes and or injectors and turbo(s) combos.



Yes, I want to stand in the front of the line. Bob, you have my order...

i want to know if they can reduce the promary shot in all third gen and the emissions shot in the later third gen to be able to run huge injectors with higher pressure and less waste and timing rattle.

A few hours before I added this thread I've asked Steve for instructions about the how to. Thinking about it now, it was a Sunday... This morning I found Steve's PM ( Thanks Steve for the fast answer! )

Now a little additional information.

The ten different power levels in the beat units are layed out this way:

SW# 0 : Half power .

SW# 1 : Fuel Saver

SW# 2 : Only Fuel and Boost

SW# 3 : Like # 2 + timing

SW# 4 : “Soft” CaTCHER

SW# 5 : Like # 4 + Timing

SW# 6 : Mild CaTCHER

SW# 7 : Like # 6 + Timing

SW# 8 : CaTCHER no timing

SW # 9 : CaTCHER with Timing

"Soft" & "Mild" CaTCHER have less aggressive throttle response. Dunno if the finished product will be that way. I will define the power levels with the beta testers.



Smarty does not need boost fooling exactly like the CaTCHER did not need it.



Does smarty work with a MAD Catcher?

Smarty does work with the CaTCHERized ECM's. Only when you go back to "Stock" software that's exaclty what you'll have in the ECM then.



Does smarty only work with a MAD Catcher?

Nope all trucks / ECM's



Can the smarty be stacked with a Comp?

There are CaTCHER's without added timing... Yet we'll have to talk about the Comp stacks more in depth later.

Smartys hardware has been designed to work with both VP and CR ECM's.

We're already working on the CR CaTCHER. Release date is not set yet but surely soon after the VP has been released.



Does Smarty have the high idle?

Yes, all softwares have the cold weather 3Cyl High idle already enabled.

Even the CARB trucks... No need to do anything to enable it.
