Smarty update HELP

I've been trying to update my SO6 with the newest software. Called Bob and he e-mailed me the instructions. I've gotten to Page 10 but that is where I get stuck. It won't EXTRACT the file. Let me back up a bit. I'm not sure that I have the right file to extract, the web site lists the orginal to update is the 4. 16 version & mine is the 4. 06 version. can I still do this update or do I need to get the . 10 diffrence first. The update process is not as eazy as it says it is. The instructions are NOT very clear for those who only know enough to get in trouble. If someone has done this could you PLEASE help. I've recently installed DDP injectors and an aftermarket turbo. And I need to control the SMOKE! That poor Mustange GT got a window full of diesel smoke on Thursday. If that was you I am sorry!

did you download 7zip? The file is compressed with 7zip

Yes, well I think so on page 9 I have 4 of the Icons shown. the last is listed as smt_VP_BETA_SL_150MPH. 7z. I have the one I think I need but is something else but that something else won't extract like instructed on page 10

sounds like you are trying to install the wrong software. Go to MADS Electronics - Smarty - CaTCHER - Download and download the newest revo software and try to unzip it with the 7zip, then try installing it.

Don't forget you need to run the drivers before your PC will see the Smarty and communicate with it.
